My g/f of 10 months told me last night that after us being together for about 3 months she had sex with her ex. I am seriously pissed with them both now i *thought* i could trust her. I even let her see him often cos she was still friends with him. i still love her to bits so im gonna try and work it out. But i'm tempted to REALLY hurt the guy. I'm 6"4 and 18 stone, so i'm pretty big, and can beat the shit out of him. only problem is, he's a cop. I'm really confused and not sure what to do/think. Help me please!!

ok well although beating the living crap out of him will make you feel beter in the short term, it will be very bad for you in the long run. your girl will probably turn to her ex and think you are a cunt for beating him and to top it all of you will have an assault charge to deal with. if he is a cop he will know exactly how to fuck you over with charges.

I agree with dumping her. Don't tell her that you are because she cheated. I'm sure she is insecure about something or other. Use that insecurity as why you're breaking up with her. Now, this is if you want to cause her lots of emotional pain, of course.

A person who 'fesses up several months after the fact is usually trying to assuage their own feelings of guilt and make themselves feel better. Had she told you about it right when it happened, that might have been a different story.

It is said that it takes hundreds of acts to build trust, and only one to destroy it. Consider whether this applies in your situation.

If I were you, I'd be wondering what other shenanigans she has up her sleeve, only to be confessed when guilt becomes burdensome. But that's me.

Forgiveness is right and good in many situations, but I'd have a hard time with issues of infidelity. Refrain from acting out in anger toward the other fellow involved. Unless he forced himself on her, she made the decision to have sex with him on her own.

I've had that happen to me but not as bad. He's right. But you have to make the decision on whether or not she's worth it. I'd talk to her if I were you, and find out more about the situation. And definately make her feel guilty, unless the guy raped her.

And don't beat the shit out of cops.
