a couple of nights ago the mother of my girlfriend of 4 months wanted to talk to me at her house, she called my mother down and told me that she didnt want my girlfriend seeing me anymore, and that she was gonna get a restraining order on me, when i havnt done anything, except for have sex with her, her mother thinks thats all we do, they dont understand how much i care for her and niether does my mother , shes 14 and im 17 , i was just wondering if they could do that? does my girlfriend have to agree with the restraining order for it to work? please help me i dont know what to do im very depressed

If I were you, I wouldn't piss her off or you could get locked up.

Your profile doesn't say where you're from so you won't get very precise advice here. Nevertheless, at 14 it probably doesn't matter, she doesn't have much say over her life. Like was mentioned earlier, be happy they don't press charges for statutory rape. Again, depending on where you're at.

He's 17...probably not the age of consent if he's in America, so statutory rape is unlikely.

Depends on the State. Here, it's 17, most States are 18.

here in cali, they can charge you at any age if the other party is under 18, and it doesnt matter if they consented to it or not.

In Cali it's just a misdemeanor if the age difference is not more than 3 years. (Cali Penal Code 261.5-b) As has been said, the laws vary widely state to state.

And as has also been suggested, parents own their kids until they're 18 and can do anything with them, within the law, that they wish.
