there's this girl... we first met thru some people. so we talk occasionally at school, and we had an art class together last semester.

she always at least says hi and stuff to me when we pass in the hallway, but we never get to talk very much.

and i was planning on asking her if she uses any instant messengers or for her phone number or something, but she beat me to it. the other day she asked me for my aim screenname.

should i talk to her more and just ask her if she would like to do something this weekend and start talking to her on the phone and develop something slowly, or when i talk to her next should i just ask her if she would like to be my girlfriend?

The first part, I'd say. But it doesn't necessarily have to develop slowly; if you hit it off and it's obvious, make it "official." But I'd maybe hold off on asking her directly about being your gf right away.

Take her out, you buy the drinks, ask for number. Repeat till you know what you want next.

By going slowly you can build a much better relationship before you two possibly become bf/gf. If you rush it and fuck up you could lose her ... and wouldn't that suck?
