Afraid to fall in love again.
Well back in November, me and my ex broke up. Since then I have been struggling to get over it. Its not that easy when the person that saved your life, breaks up with you. I can't seem to find an interest in girls anymore.
I mean I find them attractive on a physical basis but, not on an emotional basis. Me and my ex had something special. Our relationship was great. Yet since our break up. I'll start to like a chick but when it gets down to it doing shit with her, going out to the movies or something. It makes me feel like shit when I do something with the other chick.
I know what you're gonna say, do something that doesn't remind you of her. It's kind of hard seeing as we were always together. Doing everything together.
Maybe I'm afraid to fall in love, because of the pain that it has caused me. Maybe I should stop talking to her all together. I dunno. I just need some advice.
Thanks to anyone that can help.

Re: Afraid to fall in love again.
I've gone out with 6 girls since last year, 4 of them broke up with me, and all were a waste of time.
I'm really young, so I've decided to give it quite awhile before I bother myself with emotional relationships.
It's all about physical when you're my age, but because of influence, people think they need to become very attached. Girls have sex because they think it will cement their emotional relationships, and guys just follow along.
My best advice is to concentrate on having a good time and worry about an emotional relationship when YOU would prefer to.

I do try to have a good time. Just a fling. I am the emotional type of guy though. When I get in a relationship I expect it to be an emotional one, both good and bad.
Those are the girls I go for. They always leave though.
Maybe I should just give up on love.

Ahh, I am in the same boat as you are. My ex left a lot of emotional scars in me, and for the longest time I couldn't get over her. But stuff has a way or working out, you know? Out there is a sweet girl who's looking for a nice emotional relationship for you. ^^ Have faith in love.

17. I don't believe in that age shit either. Oh you're still young you'll have lots of girls bla bla bla.... My uncle meat my aunt when he was in 9th grade. I know thats not that often that that happens. I have not based my life on that. I just need a relationship that has the love part to it, along with the physical part.

Don't worry so much about it though man, because then you'll come off as a desperate and clingy guy to girls, and that's just not going to help you.

Re: Afraid to fall in love again.
Wow, I had a one of my friends going through the same shit about a week ago. His girlfriend broke up with him after they had been going out for almost a year. She told him she wasn't interested in him anymore, and basically told him that it was a waste of time to his face. He still has alot of scars from that relationship, and is starting to get over it, but he still likes her alot.
Don't worry... just because you are not interested in other girls doesn't mean your gay. My friend started thinking that. DONT DO THAT! It just takes time. Also, my friend thought that if he showed her pain and suffering that that would bring her back to him. Don't do that either. It will just show her that she won. Don't let her know it bothers you because 75% of the time, thats what shes looking for, to get you upset. I know its not fair, but boys do it too. It will get better, just have faith in yourself, and don't loose self confidence. You're still the same person, only have a lesson/experience that you learned from. :-D

Re: Afraid to fall in love again.
Just give yourself some time, its hard to rush things after you get out of a deep emotional relationship give yourself a year or so, and eventually gradually step back into the dating scene and you will feel more emotionally stable and be able to carry out another emotional relationship.

Re: Afraid to fall in love again.
Well I can safely say. I can move on now. Last night I was talking to her, she told me she has a boyfriend now. It hurts. At least she is happy. I'll get through it little by little. I guess our book is closed now.

You're a good man, Geranium. Don't let a chick get you down. Everything anyone says will seem like a cliche to you, I know.
Just do whatever you can to not worry about her, even if you have to stop talking to her altogether. Only time will help.
