Valentine's Day....
and I'm askin' this girl out. I plan on doin' so this Saturday which is Valentine's Day. Don't get me wrong or take me for a sap who celebrates Valentine's Day. I just feel like doin' it.
Well, last weekend I had a little to much to drink. I don't wanna get into what I did when I was drunk. But my mum caught me(I'm 15 by the way) and now I'm grounded for about 2-3 months. I am trying to make a deal to let me go someplace once a week but she won't let me. Now I'm not just wanting to go someplace with my girlfriend every week. But my mom is more likely to let me if I say it's because of my girlfriend. Is there any arguements that I can try and get off my punishment?
Come to think of it I probably should've posted this somewhere else.

Re: Valentine's Day....
Naw, this is probably about the best forum you'll find.
Why don't you ask her out FOR a Valentines date instead of asking her out on Valentines Day.
And tell your mom the truth. Tell her you really want to take this girl out for Valentines Day, I mean, what mom wouldn't crack at the thought of something so adorable?

Re: Valentine's Day....
that reminds me that i have to get cracking on my valentine's day gift for my girlfriend.
Well you've got two days before the big day, i'd say your best bet is to tell your mom you want to ask this girl out for valentine's day and see what happens. After getting caught drinking at 15 the last thing you need is to get caught lying to your parents. I'd also advise against drinking again.

Re: Valentine's Day....
I am quite curious about what you did to warrant a 2-3 month grounding! That's pretty severe.
You could try explaining to your mother that you feel you'd like to fill your time with more "normal healthy teen activities" and you'd like to start off by taking your gf out for V-day. Then if you manage that without causing trouble, you might be able to negotiate more gf time and less grounding time.
Kinda lame, but I'm putting myself in the "adult" role here. If you show you're asking for something NOT just for the sake of "I want it 'cause I want it" but because you'd like to improve yourself, I'd be more inclined to be lenient.

Re: Valentine's Day....
Tell your mom that staying home depresses you and will drive you to drinking.
Seriously, how can we know what to say to your mom if we don't know what she is pissed about?
