Re: more of a best freind than a boyfreind
You may either tell her you'd like to become bf-gf, or you may remain friends. Those are your options. If you're looking for a way to pre-determine her answer, there is none. You can try to drop hints or ask "test" questions but often these are so transparent that things get weird anyways.
And if you're hoping for a way to suggest the bf-gf scene without making things weird, there is none. Too much depends on factors you can't know until the question is asked.

Well put. I too have a best friend with whom I flirt all the time. We could be considered bf & gf -- like you and your friend are-- but we made it clear to each other long ago nothing would happen between us. From what you say, nothing like that has been said, so take your chances and see what happens. But make sure if you fall on your face that you aren't going to ruin the friendship by asking.

Re: more of a best freind than a boyfreind
This is a situation where you have to ask yourself a question:
"Do I want to risk losing a friend?"
If you feel for her enough as a potential girlfriend then go for it.
All the best of luck mate!

Re: more of a best freind than a boyfreind
I've got the same thing except the other way round, i've got a guy best friend that i really like heaps n would like to have as my b/f.
I bit the bullet and told him one night that i liked him, he said the same but said he didn't want to be in a relationship just yet, so we are still friends.
you could either do the same or just carry on as friends its, up to you to decide, but i say you only live once so why not ask her?? it will put you out of your misery!!

Re: more of a best freind than a boyfreind
It's not an easy thing to hear but if a girl considers you her best friend it is very unlikely she is going to want to be your girlfriend. I made the mistake of having feelings for a girl I was really good friends with and it ruined the relationship.
But hey, you never know until you try.

Thats not entirely true. I have a best friend that is a girl. If we lived closer though, we'd be boyfriend and girlfriend. We tried the long distance thing, that went well for a while, then fell apart.
You just have to make sure you two are strong enough to handle the break up. Its not an easy fall, and as long as you two are there to break eachothers fall. It'll work out. You two have been through a lot considering that you two are best friends. Its not a matter of if you two will break up its a matter of when. That will be the final test of your friend ship. Just be strong about it.
Go for it I did. Love between two best friends [guy and girl] is the best. It just makes it that much more special. Good luck, and best wishes.
