Re: Nicknames for Girls
I think nicknames come about for deeply personal reasons. "Baby" is probably as good as any other pre-fab nickname until something spontaneously pops into your head.

Re: Nicknames for Girls
nicknames usually come about out of the blue, it'll be more impulse when you give someone a nickname although seriously thinking one up is kinda sweet ... baby is as good as any ... most of what we all say or do comes from us seeing/hearing it from somewhere so almost nothing is really original.

Re: Nicknames for Girls
I call my GF "Honey Bunny". I don't know exactly why, because she isn't so much like the chick from Pulp Fiction, but it's cute and it kind of stuck.

Re: Nicknames for Girls
My g/f decided a while back that though she liked being my princess and calling me prince that we should have more personal nicnames than that kind of thing. Anyway she now has a name a bit like a Princess from a film and she has given me a name that she really likes. Im not saying what either of them are but I will say that you should just come up with something personal!

First off, that just sounds very rude, so I will treat you in a similar manner: I have used it before you little shit, so why don't you go and fuck off, moron.
Perhaps you should try being nicer to your superiors, idiot.

Re: Nicknames for Girls
I call my girlfriend babe, sweetheart, darlin', love...But I basically call every woman I know those sort of names out of friendship or politeness or whatever!
I also came up with a unique(ish) name for her...Something I've never called a girl before.
Out of the blue one night I called her princess.
She seems to like that one.
Also...Never call a girl bitch, ho, woman or wench...Not even as a joke.
I have seen many friends get slapped or dumped because of derogatory words!

Hey! You can't call your girlfriend "Princess" I just said thats what I call my girlfriend!!!!!
Seriously though I never really had a nicname for any g/f before and though one did for me it was never a big deal but my current g/f is really happy when I call her by her nickname. I mean it is a really good thing that something so simple can mean so much to her and thats why I start every email/ letter or phone call by calling her it!
I think though you need to come up with personal one!

It varies from girl to girl. The one that I used that worked best, has been angel. Corny? Yes. Effective? Yes.

Re: Nicknames for Girls
"Babe" is what I use most common referring to my significant other. Like "Let's go get food babe". Or "Babe, can you do my laundry?"
When I'm cherishing and loving and holding my boyfriend I call him a special name that makes me love him more. I'm not going to say just becaues I don't think it's necessary but it's a cute name. I use it interchangeably with a a nickname for babies.

I love that one. Once my boyfriend was looking through his numbers in the car and I was watching. And I saw "My Angel" with my number underneath. I didn't say anything but I felt so special after I saw that.

Re: Nicknames for Girls
I don't know why I do this, but whenever I know I'm going to sleep with someone, their nickname immeadiately becomes 'mon petichou'.
It's French (obviously), so it's sexy by default, but it's also cute because it means 'my little cabage', and it's unisexual.
Cheers,
Lost

Re: Nicknames for Girls
It all depends on how close you are. I have a friend, not a girlfriend, that I'm extremely close to. I'll call her anything. I've called her pussylips before. She got a laugh out of it.

Every word of that applies to me. Creepy. Get out of my head.
But above all, my favorite for her is Princess.
It started because the of the Gothic architecture her University has. I said she was the "Princess of W****** University." and she went "Oh honey..." and kissed me. So it stuck.
