My g/f is black and where she is in the USA she says that Interracial couples are ok if its a black guy with a white girl but if its the other way round ther can be problems! Its not really that its taboo or anything its just that people will make comments or shit like that but hey fuck em!

The once you go black thing is for women as in if a woman goes off with a black guy she wont beinto whites anymore because black guys are meant to have big dicks!

Where I've lived in California, in both the San francisco and L.A. areas, interracial couples seem to outnumber same-race couples! Everywhere I'd look I'd see caucasian guys with asian women. It's "the thing."

It happens because it happens like same race relationships happen. I don't think too many people have a problem with it. I don't know how common it is in the U.S. as a whole but I know a few couples myself like my aunt(white) whose married to a black guy and I work with a black chick whose boyfriend is white. Isn't any different than a same reace relationship.

I'm white and my girlfirends a mix of black/white and spanish and I don't have a problem with it. Never met anyone who did. My friend is black and he goes out with a white girl and they've been together for 3 years, they haven't had any problems. As long as your comfortable, who cares what someone else thinks.

People get together for the same reasons, whether or not they're the same race. It's still uncommon to see interracial couples in rural areas(in New England) because of racism and prejudice, but it's generally more accepted in the cities. Just a few months ago, I was dating a black guy and we'd run into dirty looks and insults more than occasionally. It's a pity people won't see past the color of another's skin.

And about the saying "once you go black, you never go back"... To each their own. My guy was a teriffic(sp) fuck, maybe the best I've had, but he wouldn't go down on me, and that was just cruel. I believe it's a cultural thing, Carribean men don't go down on girls. That was my one and only sexual disappointment with him, ever.

Strange. Here in the Greater Toronto Area interracial couples are just as common as same race couples. The only people who really have problems with it are the parents of the immigrant in the couple. They get mad because they want their kids to "preserve their culture."

I've never been in an interracial relationship (unless you want to count me has Mexican/hispanic, but I look white as all hell) but I have been in an interracial fling thingy. I don't think that's the word for it, but whatever. Me and this chick (wow, interracial and lesbian) were kinda drunk and seriously making out and groping a whole lot like on the street and stuff. We were kind of out of it, so when we started making out on the sidewalk leaning against someone's car, we didn't notice this gigantic crowd of horny guys who had gathered. Judging by the way they were looking and talking, I would say they had no problem with it at all. Then again, I was in Berkeley (if you're an idiot, that's near SF) so this may not really mean anything at all. Cool story though

That's one hell of a blanket statement. Last time I checked, Boston was New England, and there's not really much racism here. No more then in other parts of the country, and less then most IMO. I don't know what rural areas your talking about, but I doubt Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island etc should be included in that statement. Maybe Vermont, but no others if you ask me. I do agree it's more accepted in the city then out in the rural areas, but NE gets a bad wrap as being racist IMO.

I think you misinterpreted my statement. Guess I could have worded it more clearly: I meant that I live in New England, and that from what I've dealt with, people living in rural areas of NE are less accepting of interracial couples than people living in larger towns and cities in NE. I'm just giving my opinion based on what I've experienced, not trying to lump all of New England together as racist.

Prejudices against interracial dating are, thankfully, being wiped away as the old guard dies out and the rest of us grow up. My roommate used to date a black girl, and the only people who gave him any shit at all about it were his dad and uncle- decent guys on the whole, but about as racist as you get up 'round Buffalo way. Even they stopped pretty quickly when no one was on their side.

A white girl with a black boy is more accepted than a black girl with a white boy in my area. All that matters is that the couple are happy.

I am a white guy and i am married to a black woman, we also have a son. I live in Delaware and I do not usually encounter any racism here, fortunately. Go a state down to Maryland and that's a different story. my ex-fiance was hispanic and a lot of people in my family were pretty pissed when we got engaged. the old man even disowned me for awhile. anyway, i think its pointless to narrow your vision down to just one cultre when looking for potential partners. i've been with a girl from every major race and they all have their individual qualities.

Shrug. My gf is biracial (white and black) and i'm white. Since LSAKing hasnt explained about Brazil yet, i'd tend to endorse the idea about simply fucking until racism goes away.

On whether it is socially acceptable or not, I think it depends on where the couple lives and if interracial relationships are prevalent in those areas.

In and around where I live, interracial relationships are pretty rare. I know alot of people (whites and non-whites) who are against interracial relationships, a few of my friends have made comments to me about when I dated a white girl, who I later broke up with due to her feeling awkard around my friends and other people. (...I made a thread about this situation a really long time ago)

I don't blame her, or anyone else for that matter. People just need time to adjust to new situations and accept it for themselves.

Actually, the genetics for skin colour work exactly that way. The genetics for skin colour is not like it is for eye colour. Skin genetics are of what's called "intermediate" expression. That's why when you see the children of inter-racial black/white couples their skin is and in-between colour of that of their parents.

Are you sure this was because of your bf's skin color, and not some attitude problem ?

If you are looking at (white) people in the street with a kind of defiant look or as if you wanted to say that they are racist s*** anyway, you might expect some reactions of this kind.
