Default Gay Men Like Me

I was dating this guy, a while back, whose best friend is gay. One day this guy I was dating told me his gay best friend said he had a crush on me. We both laughed it off thinking it was one of those harmless crushes that gay boys have on straight girls that doesn't mean he actually likes me, he just thinks I'm pretty. Like straight girls get crushes on gay guys, etc.

But, then, my guy - at the time - and I went over to his friends house for his birthday and his friend kissed me, right on the mouth! After that he made it very clear that he really had a crush on me.

Apparently when he'd asked my guy if he could make a move on me my guy friend had said sure, thinking he was just kidding.

Anyways, my guy friend and I stopped sleeping together then and became just friends and his gay friend ended up going away to New York for several months on business. But, he's back now and wants to go out with me.

At the same time my aunt (who's a freelance artist) has hired this gorgeous, young, bisexual guy as an intern. He's very femmy and I only, just recently, found out he's bi and not completely flaming. He and I have gotten rather close recently as he's always around her loft and comes to all the parties at the artists lofts and a little while ago he started getting really flirty with me and now he comes to all of my shows. Today he also asked me out for "coffee".

I really like both of these guys, but the fact is that they're both gay! I don't want to get attached to them and then six months down the line their saying they don't know why they ever went out with me because they're really gay. They just wanted to get out their straight ya-yas or something and I'm safe for one reason or another.

What do gay men like me? I'm not butchy. Not even close. I'm an uber-femme in make up and high heels. And what should I do about this? Should I try it? Should I tell them all this? Should I avoid this?

Cheers,

Lost

They want to steal your wardrobe

Honestly, I have no idea. It could be like you said, that you're uber-femme. Maybe that's what attracts them.

Well, as they seem to want you, that doesn't quite mean that they are out of control gay then, does it?

Dating guys that admire males more than females probably shouldn't be messed with too often, cause if they find that cute new office boy or something...

Maybe they just want new best friends??

Lost, pardon my stupidity in this but your post I read as "Gay men like me"... as in "Gay men such as myself"... but after reading it I re-read it and think I catch the drift and meaning and connotations... and the light bulb came on and you're female?

The wording was tricky and confused me, so I'll keep my mouth shut until you confirm that, and no, I'm not trying to be funny or insulting at all so please don't take it that way...

Obviously, the only thing you really read was the title...

Yes. I'm a female.

Surprised?

No I read the whole thing... but I took a stupid pill this morning.... seems to be working...

Anyway it's probably just your circumstances, if you're in the situation of 'being' around gay guys a lot.. eventually some of them may find you attractive. You're a good looking woman? It could be that you are attracting 'fence-sitters', or bi's... I'd take it as a compliment. In my line of work I run across all kinds, I'm sure my ass gets looked at in certain parts of Dallas, it doesn't bother me, doesn't particularly flatter me either but I have no judgment on people's sexual behavior/deviancy. If they try to push their beliefs on me I'll simply tell them where I'm at, no harm done.

Email me a picture of yourself. That's the only way I can offer more/better advice. And I apologize for my brain cells having stopped bridging synapses earlier..lol

Heh, I know what you mean. I surmise that gay men are still men, and tend to be attracted to beauty. Especially in San Francisco, where worldiness and an understanding of the underbelly of life seems to be much appreciated by the average gay man.

As long as you're not expecting a long term relationship, dating a "gay" man is surely worth considering, if you like him.

Ah, that's funny. I'm serious.

I wouldn't get into a serious relationship with either of them because like you said, 6 months down the road they could "change their minds". Just have fun with them and move on if it gets to serious. But on the other hand, you might get close enough to be confident in their attraction to you. So basically I am giving you no significant advice. I tried my best though.

PS The title of your post confused me because I thought you were saying you were a gay man. I was just like "I always thought Lost was a woman..." lol

heeeheee, do it again!

I once fell hard for a bi guy that eventually went all the way gay... been his fag hag ever since, but he was tough to get over.

Who the hell knows what gay men like, it's probably something pretty damn unique about you that's drawing them in.

I say it's always worth a shot, better to try it out and lose 'em than to live with the 'what if' questions.

I didn't know whether the title meant gay men like yourself are... Or just gay men like you.

I'd rather hear that gay bitches dig you.

It's no easier to comprehend when you're the one living it, either.

Pity me.
