Various people I care about are falling into the depressed, eating disorder routine. My ex-girlfriend is 19, 5'5" and is now dipping under 100 pounds. My girlfriend at present, who has been struggling with eating disorders for years, is having problems with them still, but not as frequently as before.

The ex was in my high-school graduating class (’02) and now works as a manager of a bagel shop 45 minutes from her house. She works there between fifty-five and sixty hours a week, and also has full-time school. She is in such bad shape it’s scary.

The current girl is in better shape though, but still has lots of problems that I try to ease.

I am at college (without a car,) a half-hour away from both of them.

I need to have twenty-six Gregorian chants/organums/early madrigals memorized to the point of being able to name each one when a random twenty second clip is played (for a test tomorrow morning.) I am supposed to be training as a trombone player but loathe the instrument.

I am running on two hours of sleep in the past fifty hours, I’ve puked 3 times today.

(I am soothed by hugs, I think they’re wonderful and I am considered by friends to be a “hugger.”)

^^Well, try to stay hydrated and nourished, as best as you can. Not much you can do about the rest.

Why, if I may ask, are you training to be a musician when you loathe the instrument? Surely you realize you'll never master an instrument you loathe.

Memorizing Gregorian chants so you can recognize them on a test...bah. They made me do that, too. I never quite learned them all, and I survived the test. And have since forgotten it all. No horrors have come to me as a result.

Being in the music department at my school requires training on a primary instrument. I played trombone in high school, so without thinking auditioned with it for college. I much prefer the piano but I'm not very good at it. Basically: I endure playing the trombone to be able to take the theory classes.
