Does anyone here have a successful non-monogamous relationship?
Does anyone here have a successful non-monogamous relationship? Tell me about it. How does it work out? What are your and your partners philosophies/ideas/outlook on things that makes you all have this relationship? Thank you for your time.

it's like communism. it's a great system in theory but when practiced it usually doesn't work well.

plenty, and they all work fine
if you are honest and upfront, then it is ok... and as long youu dont start wanting more from the other person than they want to give.
safe sex tho people!

Exactly what Sarc said.
And there's always going to be jealousy involved.

Only with people not well-suited for non-monogamous relationships. Not everyone is like that.

Re: Does anyone here have a successful non-monogamous relationship?
Oddly enough I do.
Shocking! I know.
When I see her, we have sex (thats right! I lost my virginity, and it sucked the first time really, really bad.) and when I don't see her, she gets drunk and sleeps with frat guys. The reason for this is because we go to different schools and realize that if we were monogamous it simply wouldn't work. So she has free reign to fuck everybody, and I don't... because I can't... because... umm...
Yeah...

Re: Does anyone here have a successful non-monogamous relationship?
exactly,... that's why it doenst work if you a guy (well it does for some but not for the most of us)
on the other hand... if you a girl and not jalous... ofcourse it's great.. you can fuck your brains out and just know you guy ain't gettin laid half as often
(i had one... then we found out we where messin more with others than with eachother and dicided that we better ended it)
that was after one week... we were both such sluts :P
edit ohw... bdw i'm havin one now, sorta (it's kinda complicated, there are a load of rules..).. now i think about it.. and it's workin great.. already two years )

Re: Does anyone here have a successful non-monogamous relationship?
I think there are only 2 ways a "non-monogamous" relationship can work:
Between two people who are utterly, completely devoted to each other (and married) and have a wild streak toward "sharing." But the main rule is that "fucking is ok, holding hands is not." In other words, physical pleasures with random lovers are fine and good, but emotional attachments are frowned upon.
Or, when the relationship is so casual that no commitments have been made at all. Anyone can drop anyone at any time for someone else, whether for sex or love or both.
I think the "quietly suffering bf/gf" who "tolerates" his gf/bf "messing around" is the unhappiest of people.

Re: Does anyone here have a successful non-monogamous relationship?
It doesn't work out for me. If I'm satisfied with a girl, I don't cheat. If I'm not, I leave her and find another one.
But, mileage may vary.

Re: Does anyone here have a successful non-monogamous relationship?
The Italian idiom for people that believe this is very satisfying. Their word for "Ladies Man" translates to, "Greedy infant always at his mothers nipple."
