Ah....the power of cleavage
I was on the bus and this girl with some really nice cleavage was in front of me. She put in her card and it said to "Add 1.50". If you don't know, our bus system costs 1.50 for the first ride, so she put in a card with no money on it. The guy looks at her and then lets her ride.
Why the hell is cleavage so damn nice? Its just flesh and meat pressed together. You could make your own cleavage with excess fat or if you have a lot of muscle on your chest. I love cleavage, but I have no idea why it looks so great.
Same with tits. I love them, my favorite female body part. But I have no idea why round bags of flesh are so hot.Is it just nature. I mean, dogs find other dogs attractive. Apes find other apes attractive. Probably in the same way that we find women attractive. I assume thats it, but wanted opinions

Re: Ah....the power of cleavage
Yeah, thats it. It's biology. Though I'll be damned if I can find an evolutionary reason why we're attracted to boobs.
I mean, we're not attracted to pregneant women because biologically, the reason we want to sex is to get women pregneant, so a pregneant women is unattractive because we can't get her pregneant.

Re: Ah....the power of cleavage
We are attracted to breasts because men want a woman with big ones, so they can breastfeed there baby well (on a second note, I have seen some full grown adult females without boobs. How would they breastfeed a child?) we are attracted to big hips because the bigger the hips, the more babies, or the easier it is to have a baby. It's all about reproduction. Also, because they are kept so secrative, we have a craving for them. If you are only allowed chocolate once a week, you'd probably like chocolate more than if you ate it everyday, if you catch my drift.

When a woman gets pregnant, the body prepares for childbirth and raising the baby. The breasts swell with the milk being produced. A-cups don't stay that way.
As Al Bundy once said when Marcy was pregnant, "Now maybe you'll get to go bra shopping!" (Hopefully that's not too far back for most of you.)

Ummm.....
Because that's the way our culture is, everyone likes tits. I don't know why you would make up those weird theories about them, do you see people from african tribes going nuts around tits? No. It's because they have a completely different culture than us, not instincts.

Re: Ah....the power of cleavage
If breasts aren't as big a deal to the rest of the world as they are to Americans, it's because they're not treated as something that needs to be covered up all the time most other places. It doesn't mean a nice set isn't appreciated though.. just not obsessed over the same way we do it.

What the fuck are you talking about?
A lot of the more sensible Americans (ones who have recognised some of the gaping flaws in their country) seem to love this idea that America is the most depraved country in the world. Well, it probably is, but the rest of us aren't that far behind.

Re: Ah....the power of cleavage
A lot of Americans *think* this is the most depraved country in the world because there is an overwhelmingly large number of things that an awful lot of people think are bad, evil, perverse, etc. If it really is the most depraved country in the world, blame it on the backlash resulting from the widespread mindset that anything sexual needs to be hidden and kept quiet that we're only starting to break away from.

Re: Ah....the power of cleavage
Spif - I think I see what you mean, but there is some contradiction. Turn on a music video channel - FLESH | TITS | music | SKIN | ASS | SEX | music | SEX | TITS - you see what I mean? U.S. media puts sex in everything. So it isn't exactly hidden away all the time.
This could be part of your "backlash", as in the 1920s/1930s in response to misinterpretation of Freud's theories of repression, but then I have a hard time working out where the opression stops, and the backlash starts.
Help a cracker out?

Re: Ah....the power of cleavage
I saw on a discovery show that the reason why human breast developed the way they did was so they'd look like more like an ass, which is i guess the attractive part to prime apes. You know how like baboons have those big red asses, to attract mates.

Re: Ah....the power of cleavage
Human desires cannot be easily and simply explained with some not very well thought out theory pertaining to evolution.
There are many guys, myself included, that couldn't give two shots about breasts.
How do you explain those with a pregnant woman fetish?

Look at it this way. Everything you see on TV is a tease. "Look at how much of my boobs I can show you without actually letting you see nipples!" "I'm naked, but I have bars across the good bits, wouldn't you like to see more?" Sex is glorified in many circles, and reviled in many others- that's why you don't actually see breasts anywhere in mainstream media. It's because of the bitchslap those media outlets would get from the very loud social conservatives.
The key thing, though, is that while the middle ground (those who view sex as a normal, healthy act, not something to be placed on the highest pedestal or treated as demonic activity) is growing, it has a quiet public voice. Because of that, change is slow, and most people still swing towards one extreme or the other.
Now view this through the eyes of someone without much sexual experience. Depending on their background, parents, friends, etc., the way things are, they're more likely to wind up either believing sex is the be all and end all to being alive, or that the people on TV are anywhere from "doing something bad" to "on a crash course towards hell". Those who grow up to be sexually well-adjusted are a minority.
The ones who glorify sex are going to obsess over everything having to do with it, and may very well delve into kinkier and kinkier acts. Meanwhile, the repressed often see enough of the world to realize they're missing out on something, and many of them wind up getting buck wild with fetishes because they're trying to make up for lost time (with some good old-fashioned rebellion thrown in for good measure).
This is all based on observation and sense, not scientifically proven fact, but if Americans are leading the way in depravity and obsession, I tend to believe this is a big part of the reason why.

Re: Ah....the power of cleavage
haha, this thread makes me laugh.
Zoloft makes everything better!
When I get famous, I'm gonna have a really shotty song made into a music video, but I'm gonna have naked chicks run around alot. I'll have black bars over anything that makes them naked though.
It'll happen, you'll see. My name is Adam Thompson. When I get famous, you'll all be like "bullshit! That's not the same person!"
nevermind. I'm going to bed.
