Default oh man, I've got problems...

I decided to spend a week away from my fiance... and, er I don't really know what, if anything... it's going to achieve? We're not fighting at the moment, things are great... I guess I just want to give him some space, not the way it sounds, but.... freedom? I suppose? Just room to breathe, relax, kick back... I mean, hmmm.... we relax together, but... well sometimes you just sort of get the idea that it would be nice for someone if you gave them a bit of time to themselves.

And I thought it would clear my mind a little to get out of the house... it was more for me, to begin with... but,

I haven't even been away all day... I'm here at work, staying in a hotel type place tonight... and all I can fucking think about is how much fun I would have if I went home tonight and relaxed with him on the couch and had dinner together and watched a movie, and then crawled into bed and snuggled up to sleep together... I wanna cry, and I'm no cry-baby... god...... what the fuck is wrong with me. I'm usually so independant and keen on being alone, but I have this intense craving to just go home because that's where I am happiest... this is nuts....

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. When you do get to see him again, it'll be that much better.

I think you are too overbearing. From all your essays you post on this site, I seriously think you are. It seems like you are suffocating him. Even if you have good intentions, or want to give him something, he may just get annoyed by the fact that you are bothering him.

Don't call him during this week, and when he comes home, restrain yourself.

If this relationship isn't destroyed, it will be if you keep suffocating him.

HUH??? DID you even bother to READ my post???

He IS at home, I'm the one who decided to go away for a week to give him some free time, how on earth could that be considered overbearing? I am taking a week away, of my own free will... he didn't ask, or even hint for me to do this.

He said that he didn't want me to go away, but that he understood if I needed to...

I don't get you, or why you replied before even reading my post?

Give me some example of my tendency to smother? And describe what you see as overbearing? Please, I'm open to criticism, you just have to be able to give examples because what you are saying goes against everything I've ever been told before... I've been critisized for being too distant, too independant, too unconcerned... but never overbearing... so please elaborate.

So you love and miss your fiance...There's nothing abnormal about wanting to be with him!

You just have to stay strong and let the breathing space period finish.

It's like going on a diet...You go without food and always have your eyes on the thinner you.

Think of it in terms of an emotional diet.

When you get back things will be better.

I should write a book or a manual like Kangy did!

It is not a good idea to take a break like this because you think the other person needs it, barring a situation where they're unabashedly stubborn and undeniably in need of it. This is only something you should do if you need to do it. You obviously don't.

Does this mean I'm saying, "Go home"? Not necessarily. It might be worth it to stick it out for at least another couple of days. If he really does need this time apart from you, that should be enough. Maybe you'll find that you don't mind being apart so much either.

You made a choice. There's something to be said for living with that choice, only going back on it if you reach a breaking point.

do you really need it? does he? or is this just something that you *think* you should do before getting too committed to call it quits? in any case, give it like 2 or 3 days, then go back to him. was there a fight or something? some kind of rift in the relationship that made you think to try this? i've got all kinds of gray areas here...

Hey sarc if you want my opinion I would say go home. Why are you making yourself do something that you don't have to do? Exspecially if it makes you unhappy.

Take Care,

Kangy
