Just curious, I'm gonna do a poll sorta. Which do you prefer: going to dances solo or with a date?

I'm asking because up until now, I've gone to dances solo. Not because I couldn't get a date, I just didn't want added stress. I figure going alone lets you dance with anybody and everybody you want, which you would likely do anyways even if you had a date. I'm considering going to Homecoming this year with a date, but I don't really see the point. I mean, you go to the dance together, but what do you do with a date that you wouldn't do with girls if you had went solo.

In most cases at my school, people never dance more than 3-4 times with their date.

So, which is better, going to dances solo or with a date. And if you prefer a date, what do you do, so to speak, with her.

i like to go solo and meet new ppl

go with a date, so no matter what you'll have someone to dance with.

depends... is it a formal dance, like a prom type thing, or like a club type school dance. will you be dressing up in a suit?

if it's a formal dance, bring a date. if it's just any old dance, then go solo.

I just prefer not to go to dances. If a girl is so vapid that she thinks it's fun to squirm around while listening to awful hip-hop music, then I'm probably not interested in her.

I went solo once, but only because a guy I liked asked me if I would be there, and encouraged me to come. Good thing I did 'cause he asked me out that night.

If you're outgoing, it's never a problem to go solo... but if you're shy (like me) then going solo is a little depressing... cause you don't have the guts to approach anyone.

I don't go to dances. i prefer to stay home and chill on the computer. Hell I would skip prom in a heartbeat to play in a Magic The Gathering tournament or to spend some quality time on my computer .

When I was in school and they had one of those stupid dances or discos or whatever, I used to go along with a few friends.

Wasn't there to pull or dance...Just there to eye up the fit birds, watch the guys dancing like retards with seizures and watch the teachers trying to get into the latest music like they actually liked it!

My friends and I would get bored, go outside, pass around a small bottle of vodka, smoke a ciggy, go back in and sit there being dizzy!

Those were good times...Good times.

Yes, I most certainly would avoid a relationship with a girl who likes school dances. I have before. I'm not "anti-social," I just give a few brain cells of thought to what manner of company I surround myself with.

All of my girlfriend's exs have come from her going to dances. Two of them used to beat the shit out of her, the others hardly cared about her more than getting her to get them off. I, however, met her in school 5 years ago, and I don't know what it is, but she's never been with anyone else so long.

Maybe it's that I wasn't born in America or maybe it's that I just didn't adopt the whole man-whore attitude?

I went to a dance in eighth grade. Later, I heard that this one girl took off her shirt in the coat room with a bunch of guys around. (She was wearing a bra.) That's when I more or less decided it's all a bunch of stupidity and I wouldn't bother anymore. After all, I wasn't one of the cool kids, so there'd be no tits for me.

Being anti-social nowadays is probably a good thing. Stay at home until you're about 20, then you won't take the retards as seriously as you would at a younger age when you do go out.

heyyyy dancing is the BOMB! don't listen to these people, i'm still recovering from a dance show i did last night to around 800-900 people!

i strongly suggest going solo, that is if you don't have a gf/bf... i mean, what if u find a girl that is, hate to say this but, better than your date?? you'll be kicking yourself that you had to stick with one person the whole night. and incase you don't find that sexy person, just have fun dancing and grooving around with your friends or with randoms...in those situations, as long as you're not touching them in an unsightly manner, anyone will dance.

(oh and btw, DO NOT take part in grinding when u go out...itz icky and slutty...)

I only go to dances w/ a girl if they're my gf. I used to go to those stupid 7th grade/8th grade dances... I think I went to maybe 3 of them. All you do is stand there talking to your friends eating food, if you're not popular you're a wall flower watching the girls from the other side of the gym, fantasizing that any one of them would just come over out of nowhere asking you to dance and then take you into the locker room and suck you off. Well that was me, I dunno about any of you other horny little school boys.

p.s. this was like 4 years ago, I'm much more refined and I do have a gf now.

No, you guys were close, but a sarcophagus is any sort of large, ornate coffin. Period.

Out of all my school days thus far, I have gone to maybe one dance, never had a gf, don't care, blah blah blah. I got bored out of my skull and said fuck it, dances are boring. Unless you're one of the "cool" people, all you do is stand around and have to listen to bad music.
