Default Not afraid of rejection, but...

Most people I hear about don't ask girls out because they have a fear of rejection. Well, I have a different problem. I'm not afriad of getting rejected. In fact, this may sound cocky, but I'm often confident that they would say yes. My fear is of what happens when/if they say yes. I'm fearful of what to say/do on the date. If it went further, to the point of being a couple, I'd have no clue on what to do then.

Anybody else like that? If so, what did you do to make that fear subside.

This is kinda important, because there is a girl that I really like. She is like the most beautiful girl on the earth. And from what I know of her personality, I like that mostly also. If I actually managed to start a relationship, I wouldn't want to mess it up.

Just go with the flow. Ask her to go to a movie. Go, then have a good time and maybe catch some McDonalds. If you don't have a fear of rejection and can hold a decent conversation (or at least have stuff in common with her) I don't really see a problem. Something as simple as going to get a slushie after school perhaps.

I didn't know what to fucking do on my first date but we went to McDonalds and talked shit for 30 minutes or so before going back over to a friend's house. Simple as that and it'll probably fall into place after that.

(I was friends with her friends so this may not apply to you, I dunno. It's worth a try anyway).

Eh, I'm trying to help here...

There's no point doing anything unusual for you...Do whatever comes naturally.

Having a relationship with someone and doing things differently than normal is like living a lie...This is bad!

Just go with the flow and see how it goes dude!

I don't think "fear of rejection" just means being scared that she might say no. I think it's also whether or not she accepts you as a person instead of looking at you cock eyed saying "What the fuck??"

I wouldn't say I act too differently around girls I like. I'm a bit more uptight on the inside, and I focus a lot more on what I say. Still, in general, I'm not a talker, even with male friends.

Maybe I should try acting completely natural. Usually when I approach a girl I'm interested in, I have a little line ready(just to start the conversation). Perhaps I should just not think of anything until I'm actually talking?

I say you should hit up the movies. Heck any movie will do, just make sure to keep the conversation lively and make sure she is comfortable. If it's your first date depending on who you are you might start sucking face or going further, but if you are a reserved guy you can put your arm around her and just chill. After the movie go and hang out or drink some coffee if you like it. I have learned over the years that first impressions are everything today, and just try to make the girl happy when your out with her. Now saying that I have had what I like to call a 'dry streak' in terms of the ladies, but mostly because the last one I had was a total skank, and I just couldn't take her shit any more. AFter that I have been like 2 years without a GF, and havn't really regretted it until now. That's why I plan to hook up with this attractive sweet innocent little thing next weekend... Movies are the best for first dates, and they are the traditional. Have fun bro!
