Another Pill question
This is mainly directed towards Mojo, I guess.
Is the pill completely accurate? I understand that the placebo pills are what trigger your period. Basically, my situation is, I'm going to be in a sexual situation on Sunday and it's sort of a special occasion. The thing is, I take my placebo on Sunday night. There's no chance it could creep up on me a day early, is there? This is my second month on the pill, if that makes a difference. If I get it on Sunday, I'll be pissed, especially if it happens without my prior knowledge.

Re: Another Pill question
It just happened to me, I'm like 2 days earlier than I should be... the impatient little bitch. *sigh* Ya never know aye, I've even got myself a timer so that I always take the pill at the same exact MINUTE every damn day, but does the pill afford me the same consistancy? Noooo... well, most of the time it does, but when you REALLY want it to, it lets you down. :P So prepare yourself for the worst... but wouldn't the worst be just giving him a blowjob? If so, the worst isn't really that bad at all.

Re: Another Pill question
Heh, thanks, Sarc. I was hoping for perfect regularity, but I guess I could be in for some shittiness. Oh well, thanks.
This doesn't mean other people can't give me their input, are you pill gals perfectly regular, or off a bit like Sarcophagus?

Re: Another Pill question
There's a new pill that's just been FDA approved called Seasonale. An article about it is on Yahoo here: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/hsn/20030909/hl_hsn/newbirthcontrolpillapproved
The short version is this- this pill is based on the fact that doctors have been telling patients to skip placebos for years, apparently, because it doesn't trigger their periods. If that's the case, then you could try it that way.. keep taking the normal pills, at least until Monday. (Hopefully you have an extra, I don't know how they're rationed out.)

Re: Another Pill question
That's a good idea, maybe I'll take the first day of next month's supply for my first day of placebo. That could work.

Re: Another Pill question
Yes, Steph, if you continue to take actual bc pills you can put off your period. No biggie on occasion.

Re: Another Pill question
i agree with deadlycindy.
and this only being your second month, your body isnt really settled into the routine of the pill yet. When you are, you should have your period pretty close to the time it says on the packet. Some times it may take a bit longer to come, but should never be before you start taking the placebo (sugar pills)
i have been on the pill for 7 years now. It is fantastic!
still practice safe sex tho!

Re: Another Pill question
that's wierd... i don't understand how you can get your period before you stop taking the pill. By definition, you're not supposed to get your withdrawal bleed until you've withdrawn the pill.....
And similarly by definition, if you bleed while still taking the pill, it's termed breakthrough bleeding.
Well anyways, two points: firstly, if you have a special date or holiday, there's nothing wrong with taking two cycles of pills in a row without stopping for the withdrawal period.
And secondly i suppose the least fertile time for you in terms of getting pregnant would be just AFTER a period when your lining is not receptive and shed. So your most fertile time means right before your period, when the lining of your uterus is at its thickest.
Ok i know this has nothing to do with the original question but i just wanted to throw my bits in too!

Re: Another Pill question
The 'placebo' pills don't trigger your period, they're there to keep you on a regualr schedual of taking the pills. (They're actually called reminder pills). If you were to skip a week, it'd be hard to pick up the habit of taking a pill for the next 3 weeks and then stopping.
I usually just throw them out at the time I'd take the actual hormones because I don't want to be bothered taking a pill I don't need, it still lets me remember though.
Anyway, if you aren't supposed to get your period till after Sunday, don't worry about it. Not taking the reminder pills or taking them won't make a difference - I guarantee you.
And if you were to take 2 cycles in a row you'd miss your period completely till next month.
