The reason I'm asking this question is because in my sociology book it said that men usually marry women more for love and women marry men more for financial stability. So I thought I'd give it the ol' "acid test".

^It's much easier for women to make a living now than it used to be, and most families are now 2 incomes so that may be changing. At least it would make an interesting discussion in class.

I was reading "How The Mind Works" by Stephen Pinker the other day (it's a great book - everyone should read it) and it noted that women consistently want to marry the richest and most powerful men in the availiable group.

This is even true for some tribe where women have he majority of the wealth.

Pinker said this was because women seek out men who will support them and their children.

Love however is a nice feeling...Knowing that somone loves you is a great feeling so I've been told.

Whatever...I've metamorphisised myself into not needing others and love and shit...As long as I'm okay and can look after myself, I'm cool!

For me, love. I could survive anything, except for not having love.

In my experience, smart females make their own money and prefer a guy they can love who does the same. That way, if something bad happens to either of them and they aren't working, the other can and will be able to support them both.
