It would depend on what time of the month she had sex, in relation to her period. Many girls would start to worry immediately after having unprotected sex, while others would only begin to notice if they missed their period. This could take up to about a month, and if she's irregular, she may even think it's just irregularity.

I can't help you with the pregnancy tests, but my guess is, don't get the cheapest. Most will work decently, though. Try to get two, for accuracy.

When she starts putting on the pounds and it's all going to her bery round tummy. Or the morning sickness. Or the lack of blood that is supposed to be there.

Supposedly, a woman can tell within the first couple of weeks. That is, if she knows her body well.

I've always used Error Proof Test (EPT). They're getting more expensive as time goes by though. I remember when they were $11 now they're $20! I'd suggest stocking up on a few, they'll probably be $25 next year.

You can get any brand you (or she) likes. I've come to the conclusion that they're like tampons. Each woman has their own brand and type that they prefer. Although, I hope it doesn't get to the point where she's buying pregnancy tests as much as she's buying tampons.
