Pregnancy??
Is it possible for a female to continue to have her period after becoming pregnant? If so will it change her period at all? How long can the period continue after becoming pregnant if so?

Re: Pregnancy??
Nope, the periods stop. Any bleeding should be checked out by a doctor. A lot of bleeding is probably a miscarriage.

Re: Pregnancy??
Girlfriend has recently been experiencing a more discomforted period, with a lot more pain and more blood flow. Last time we had sex was about 2 months ago, shes had 2 periods since then, the first one being real late (about a week).
She claims her friend had unprotected sex, and continuedt o have her period for 4 months until her period stopped.

Re: Pregnancy??
I think the chances of her being pregnant range fron nigh to impossible.
You just don't continue having periods after you get pregnant.
The whole point of menstruation is to get the womb ready to accept and nourish a potential child. If this happens, there's no reason to continue doing it, until after the child is born.

Re: Pregnancy??
You're joking, right?
This has to be one of the top 10 obvious things in the clinical sphere.
Next time you post, provide some of the links to the sites you found in Google that didn't answer your question.

Re: Pregnancy??
Odd. I've never heard of this.
I guess I'll find out about it if I ever reach medical school.
However, I think it's safe to assume that, while bleeding may occur, it is most certainly not menstruation.

Re: Pregnancy??
YES i realize i must sound like im the most ignorant person about sex, and therefore shouldn't have it, and i htought i had a concrete understanding of the physiology involved! bur my girlfriend is hearing stories from her friend (WHO has a child) that she got pregnant that way... 4 months after having sex and still having a period????
This sounds absolutely ludicrous to me, but i really do want to make sure.

Do you honestly expect a doctor to post on totse?
They're to busy making money hand over fist.
Why don't you just set up a doctor's appointment for your broad?

Re: Pregnancy??
blood test results get back tommorow. the blood test wasn't for pregnancy however, it was for spinal meningitis, but i think pregnancy would show up on that as well.

Megadeth fan??? Anyways, the whole reason for the blood is to line the womb to nurish a child. If the blood left the child would die and come with it.

Re: Pregnancy??
Basic answer: Probably not.
Proper answer: Consult a doctor. Have the girl go to a doctor and say unto him "Dude, am I pregnant? If so, what's up with this blood?"
Note: Having had a baby does not make one an expert on babies and gynocological health.

Re: Pregnancy??
I've heard of a woman continuing her period throughout her pregnancy. It's extremely rare.
Get a pregnancy test.
A meningitis test doesn't test for the hormones that a pregnant female produces. You need to get a pregnancy test.
There isn't a generic blood test that will reveal everything wrong with a person. "This tests concludews that you have cancer, the flu, leprosy, HIV, and a cavity."

the cavity is a nice touch.
and i doubt she's pregnant. i've never heard of a woman still bleeding after getting knocked up. just doesn't happen. if you're really worried, go to a doctor.
