Hi. I'm 17, 5'7 and 75 kg (150 lbs approx.), freshman, never had a girlfriend before but has had numerous crushes,

I've been stuck on this thought very much. I've been wondering if girls like going out or like having boyfriends who are smarter than all of his classmates except for the kid who memorizes notes, not the top athlete, doesn't have any acne or pimples on my face even though I had before, normally dislikes to take part in any social activity in college, atheist, hates pop and boy bands + eminem and quite not into hardcore heay metal or the shitty rap that keeps coming out like pop up ads these day, fav music genres being plain rock and techno, who likes watching spy movies but will watch romance for her, likes any type of food as long as it tastes above the average line, who'd like to become someone great in the future but still can't think of his ambition.

I wear glasses but that doesn't mean i'm like really into fat novels and likes to occasionally write programs on his pc (even though I enjoy that). I personally suck at making nice first impressions but ppl who remain with me or just known me for lots of time have said that I am a fun person to be with.

I would like to know if girls, like guys, like me.

AsI for the guys, I would like to know how many of your thoughts in your head coincide with my post.

well i think its safe to say that girls dont go after 'cute' boys/men, since _every_ girl ive met has said im really cute (flattered!) but i dont think they are ever interested in me^

Those are the main sociological stereotypes I found during my school life. Although there are sometimes breaches of protocol, for example, a popular girl will go for a non conformist or a non conformist for a geeky type. Nobody knows why...My theory is that it has something to do with the mole people.

Anyways...Just go through school and see who you can pick up.

When you leave school, things will get better...Trust me on that...I was always a non conformist and now I can get non con's, populars and I think I pulled a lesbian once...I think!

Deadlycindy is somewhat atypical. But a lot of that is because she's matured past the teenage type crap.

If I'm any indication (or my friends for that matter) you aren't going to have too easy of a time in high school. They just aren't mature enough to see the obvious benifits. College is where things get better. You may not 'hook up' with as many girls as the football star, but you are more likely to find love and have actual relationships.

I can speak from experience on this one,in high school I was into computers ( this was back in the days before computer graphics and PC's and the mouse,,, the old days)before computers were cool and was treated like hell by the jocks, the guys that treated me bad now live in the same town we grew up in, either at the plastic factory or two of them work in a service station. I have traveled the world, lived three times in the Netherlands( Holland) ( i live in the netherlands now)I have lived all over the U.S., Norway, Saudi Arabia,I am married to a Dutch fashion model and have a beautiful daughter and a six digit income. Educate your mind, the fasination girls have with the jocks ends about the age of twenty and they start looking for men with depth and a future. Loose the glasses, contacts are great. A good job and a great sense of humor attract women. Think about the girls that rejected the nerd, Bill Gates, when he was in high school, what are they thinking now.

Uh, no offense, but you sound like an ass clown. The way you snapped at Kikey without so much as a polite "please don't reply in such a manner" is probably why you have no girlfriends. The way you did it was rather immature and shows a lack of patience. Even if you are a "genious", you can't expect to act in such a way and attract friends, much less women.

I think you're fine. You'll find a girl and it's a bonus if you're really skinny.

I'm just like you, too. And it's easier to do what I did - get contacts and take up smoking. The smoking didn't really help bring in girls, but it did relax me a lot more around them. Also, there's a reason I refer to whiskey as "liquid courage." Invest in a hip flask.

Our "high school football star" returned as the football coach (at age 26) and ended up getting convicted of statutory rape. Apparently he never got over being a dumb jock going for 14-year-old cheerleaders.

Actually, no. I've long wanted to be a cosmetic surgeon, after I first watched the Discovery Health Channel about 3 years ago.

I've studied it diligently, and I know that this is what I want to do. The only problem that arises is tuition for medical school.

No fucking clue, everyone is different. In my experience, I am a junior in HS, I have never had a gf or any boy/girl shit, whenever I actually waste a valuable 5 seconds of my life actually saying something, I get ignored, so yeah.

We like the nerdy guys. They are funny, interesting, and generally treat you better. Was never really good friends with the top of the class popular girls in my highschool, but we talked. They were a little light in the head, liked their guys right out of a gap commerical. The average girls who aren't social climbers look at the nerdy guys and smile.

It does get better in college. More intelligent girls, and less pressure to be with the best looking guy. Its just...they all seem a little preocupied with studying now. Kinda disappointing.. they dont even notice us looking because they dont believe we would. But I know lots of girls who have checked out the skinny guy with glasses, carrying a laptop under his arm. As my best gal pal put it "The more they type, the stronger fingers they have... " plus you dont have to go and spend hundreds of dollars on tickets to watch them play a sport you dont give a shit about.

Yes kikey has a point, but not all girls are that immature for so long. Some girls mature much quicker and see that having a big meat head for a boyfriend is not the best thing in the world. Just go and talk to them and be polite as hell. If they like Eminem then say well he's not my favorite but take it like a man and try to enjoy yourself.

Kikey....you sometimes have very valid points...and you sometimes give some very good advise...but god damnit...i think when it comes to women you have your head 3 feet up your ass! I know what I'm talking about, pal. It is only until girls get older, get through the bullshit high-school and early-college phase that they realize that the smart guys are going to be the ones making money.

As a high school student, I'd have to say Kikey's dead on. Though I'd probably be considered a jock myself, there's two striking differences between "popular guys" and other guys. Certainly, achievments and genetics have a certain amount to do with it, though quite a bit of it is simply personality. These guys are not afraid a single bit to go out and ask a girl for a date. Though cocky at times, it comes off as 100% confidence in themselves. It works. Even if these guys were to stop playing sports, they could still pick up an unbelievable amount of girls simply through personality.

What Kikey says is certainly ture, to some extent. But I'm a freshman in college, and all the semi-dorkish guys are doing alright. I don't mean the ones who walk around with their head down and avoiding contact with the opposite sex - these are the types who will remain stuck in their mothers' basements forever after college. I'm talking about the guys who, through their reading and debate on matters some would view as irrelevant, have slowly developed the vocabulary, wit, and self-confidence to really be quite charming. Girls are starting to notice that sort of thing.
