ok, i got this weird complex and it hasn't been a problem until just recently. usually when i have sex with a girl, i have the opportunity to sleep with them (as in, the same bed) afterwards. now normally i love to snuggle and fall asleep with a girl in my arms, but after sex... not so much. for some reason i HAVE to be by myself. i once made a girl sleep on an inflate-a-bed next to mine, ozzie and harriet style, due to this retardedness of mine. would you say this is mental? chemical? anybody else have this problem? thanks for the input... 420...

Fear of committment maybe? It probably wouldn't happen if you found one girl you loved, and got married or something.

Or maybe you are not happy with yourself for some reason, worried she might not like you or whatever. Have you had sex with many girls?? If not, this might just be a thing you will phase out of. I also agree with the commitment theory above.

I've never slept in the same bed as someone I've had sex with. However on many occasions I have slept in the same bed with girls, and definatly enjoy the cuddling. Unless she's been teasing me beforehand (girls are evil) in which case I can't sleep due to a raging case of hormones. That could be your problem.

(I once woke up in the middle of the night to find I'd gotten to second base in my sleep. Actualy she woke up and let me know with something hard across the head...)

i'm starting to entertain the commitment theory due to the fact that i've had one girlfriend out of twentysomething. i just never put it together with the "being in the same bed" problem before. come to think of it she was the only girl i'd sleep with, period. good call guys, i'm gonna go with that. time to make a change. 420...

In seriousness though, I would say it is the commitment theory...I don't mind sleeping with a GIRLFRIEND after sex...But sleeping with some other girl after sex is just a bit iffy...You don't want them thinking that there is more to it than just sex now do ya?!?!

To answer your question directly I would say it's mental. Stereotypes would say it's common for a guy to be distant to the girl after sex. I "think" your problem is that you might just simply feel uncomfortable or shy after sex. I mean you have just shared your body in the closest way possible in my opinion. I found that girls will think more of you if you decide to fall asleep with them cuddling or talking about each other while laying together.

nah, i'm not shy at all. i'm positive its mental but more along the lines of the commitment theory. i also remember hearing something about it being a chemical thing in the brain (loss of serotonin or something). anyway, its a drag. 420...

I had the same problem with my girlfriend. After sex I couldn't just stay there and hug her and fall asleep. I could sleep in the same bed but I had to roll over so I was facing away from her.

Don't get me wrong, im not an evil bastard, sometimes i think theres nothing better than to have her sleeping in my arms, but just not after sex.

I put it down to the unbearable heatwave, plus the heat generated by sex, but i know that my situation is different to yours.

why would anyone not want to stay with the girl after sex? i mean, if you stay after sex, there is always the opportunity for more sex.
