Rejection
I really hate rejection. I was thinking about it. When you get rejected you feel like you arent worth anything. Damn I feel like shit. Maybe this should be in Bitch and Moan. But I am more talking about in the relationship.

Re: Rejection
It's hard, but eventually you learn to place your self-worth in your own hands, not others'. Then rejection slides off your back, because the ones who fuck you off are beneath *your* attention, you're not beneath theirs.

Re: Rejection
Everyone gets rejected so there is no need to take it personally. Sometimes someone is not ready for a relationship, or they are in one, or they are having a bad day, or they are a fucking moron, or they find you unattractive, or you remind them of someone they don't like, or someone lied to them about you, or they really know you, or whatever. Just pretend it is a reason you can handle and move on.
For most anyone, there was some point in there life that if you had approached them in a certain way they would not have rejected you, AND there was some point when they would have rejected you no matter how you approached them. Just keep looking for someone that is ready for you.

Re: Rejection
Pfft, I've made friends with rejection, and we get along just fine.
Become an entertainer, especially a stand-up comic or writer.
You'll then get rejection as often as you get lunch, and you'll become immune to it, even the human-interaction variety of rejection.
Sure has made my life easier.

Re: Rejection
I'd say the average person is rejected, what 200 times a day in various ways. Rejection is a part of life, sometimes harder than others. But you'll always get over it. It may be 10 years or 10 days, but someday you'll look back and not even care.

Re: Rejection
What Kikey said. It's also kinda cool that once you stop worrying about rejection and worry about being a decent person on your own terms, it tends to lead to more attention from the opposite sex. Self esteem is desirable.

What'd I say?
It must've been something profound, no doubt, but I don't remember saying it.

Re: Rejection
i don't really have a say in here 'cause if a guy/girl rejects me (i'm bi so hey), it's more or less "ok, who's next?" just because a girl said fuck no, doesn't mean yer gonna die. seriously, live and let die. my life at school is shit 'cause i'm a scrawny guy, so i can hardly do any sports. on top of that, i'm partially disabled at my hips, which brings me even lower on the totem pole. but when you can do something better than everyone else, you'll always be picked first. i go to school dances and church dances quite a bit, and this is a simple and VERY corny trick that i use that always works. when it comes time to dance to a slow song, i just wander around and ask a girl. i don't even think about if she's gonna accept or not, 'cause if she don't, girls outnumber the guys 5 to 1. after a while, it becomes automatic. now, use that in the perspective of a relationship. you want to find the right girl, but you always end up going in the wrong direction. put simply, have lots of casual dates ie: go to a movie and eat at mcdicks or where ever. when you stick to one girl, you ruin your chances, and when those chances are ruined and you marry this chic that you don't really like, it's only going to end in lots of fighting and me coming to your door holding a katana in my hands stopping the fight. so what if a girl doesn't wanna go out with you anymore? suck it up, princess, 'cause life is full of rejection. i know it for a fact, went out with this one chic for 5 months, nothing really happened 'cause i'm the romantic-type when it comes to relationships, and she couldn't handle it. if you want the best bit of advice, just be yourself. nobody can say you suck at it, no one can say you look like an idiot, and most girls i've seen lately want a guy that isn't hiding behind a mask

Damn, left my mask at school....

Did you totally pull that out of your ass or what? 200 times a day? Is your town just rude or are you mean?
Rejection is experience. You gotta put a positive twist on your negative persent. You learn, cry, feel like shit and deal with it. The worst rejection you can ever face is rejection from yourself. As long as you believe in you (yeah, it sounds corny as hell) but seriously, you'll always be ok. Negative personal image is bad for the soul. Whatever happens, whoever rejects you or puts you through shit, you always can believe in yourself and you should let anyone influence that feeling.
Eh, that might sound kind of sloppily put together but I've just been in the Florida dun for 5 hours. I try.
Oh and Apoxyus, never worry about rejection. I'll never reject you and as long as Mojo doesn't reject you you'll be fine. (Just don't piss me off).

If somebody says 'no' to you about anything, that is rejection. Sigh. Anything simple at all, it might not have the same impact but they are the same in theory.

Re: Rejection
Alright here is a quote of mine that is slighly changed to help your situation
"Rejection is unavoidable in fact it is necessary to survive, it is what feeds the urge to improve and grow. It is intended to help, the times it causes trouble is when it is looked down upon as a setback. It is then when reluctance sets in and the rejection works against us" - Kangy
So in other words. It may be hard but try not to dwell on it. Look at it as a lesson learned. Ask yourself why you were rejected? was it you? was it her? was it something you said? and then learn from that and don't make the same mistake twice.
Take Care,
Kangy
