Communication In a Relationship
Hi Guys
My b/f and i have been going out for a year & 2 months, today is actually 2 months.
Let me give u a brief description of how our relationship is, as in how we spend time together, on a week day we see each other at night for like an hour sometimes more, weekends its the same, unless we go to a rave.We have never been to the movies together, never went out to dinner, the way i see it is we have never done anything a normal couple would do, it use to bug me alot and he even brought it up a few times, but i guess we never really made that effort to change anything.
I bored with someone and the lady does not allow my b/f to come inside the house to see me, so we basically spend our time together in his car.I love spending all this time with him.
When we do speak at work its for like 2 min the most 5.Last night we were arguing and he said that he does most of the talking in the relationship, he said that when he calls me at work its like i dont have much to say to him.He says the reason for this is probably because our relationship has become a routine, its like we know we there and we take each other for granted. The whole thing about speaking for 2 min at work is cause i work at a switchboard which is constantly busy. But i have to admit there are times when there is time to speak.I guess he's right about the routine thing, i mean i didnt even realise our relationship became like this, we do love seeing each other and stuff, he says that we have a communication problem. In a way i do agree with him but i feel we need to do more stuff together and maybe it would improve our relationship and how we communicate.
Is there anyone out here who experienced this in a relationship ?

Re: Communication In a Relationship
I've had a similar thing, it was horrible since I'd never know what to say. It was mainly brought on by me being terrified. I had to try and hide my fear for 6 weeks and I think, thinking back, it'd have been better if I expressed my fear and worked it out from there.
Anyway, are you comfortable in his company?
Maybe you just aren't chatty people. It's not a necessity to talk, as long as you talk about what needs to be talked about.
I would spend more time doing things together tho.
Share experiences, but don't try to do anything (IE:talk more). Just be together and go with the flow.

Re: Communication In a Relationship
You don't mention how the sexual side of your relationship is. But perhaps getting more intimate would livin things up? In a situation where a relationship has become routine as you've said I would suggest being a little more spontaneous.
