My gf and I have been having sex for about a year, and neither of us have had ANY sexual experience with anyone else, before or during our relationship. we've done basically everything (giving eachother handjobs, oral [recieving and giving], and straght up sex). Am I correct in assuming we dont have to worry about STDs at all (just assuming that our parents would have told us by now if we'd inhereted AIDS or anything)?

STD's can develop from poor hygeine(sp?). You should probably get tested before you start having unprotected sex. Also take into consideration, if either of you have ever had a blood transfusion, or gotten extremely ill. The main thing to do is go get checked, so you can be 100% sure.

I think it's impossible for either of you to get an STD if both of you are absolutely, totally monogamas, UNLESS:

A. One of you gets transfused with some bad blood; or

B. One of you uses an infected needle; or

C. If a doctor or dentist uses an infected needle on one of you; or

D. Someone infected with HIV bites or rapes one of you; or

E. One of you is kissed by someone whose mouth is infected with an STD; or

F. One of you performs mouth to mouth rescusatation (sp?) on someone whose mouth is infected with an STD.

I'm not a doctor, so you might want to ask one. But I THINK those are the only possible ways. Love, Venus.

you can still get std's from unprotected sex maybe this is why aids is so big now or herps they can develope like said above from poor hygiene, use google and search bout it

Poor hygeine? Does it sporadically multiply until you have a full blown case of AIDS? Did I miss something here? What disease can you get from not showering? HIV and herpes don't just develop.

The ways you can get STIs are:

1)A contaminated object pierces your skin.

2)Warty tissue comes into contact with an open wound on your genitals.

3)Ingesting contaminated food. If a server who has Hep B is careless with your food, you can get become infected.

4)Having sex with an infected person. Intercourse and oral.

You cannot get STIs from:

1)Toilet seats. This is within reason of course. You're not going to sit on seat smeared with shit and other bodily fluids. The infection is not going to penetrate through your pores or crawl to your gentials. Either way, most STIs can't live long without a host.

2)The only thing I know of that is contagious from saliva is the flu, otherwise known as the kissing bug. The only way to be infected is if she is infected and you have an open cut in your mouth.

3)Sex does not spontaneously generate any diseases. This includes crabs, I've heard people say that you always get crabs your first time - this is a lie.

Motel sheets on the wet spot? I don't know what motels you go to but the ones I have stayed in *wash* the sheets.

My point is, Shodan, if you and your girl are monogamous, you'll be fine. Unless some freak accident happens where she's raped and has to run down an alley barfoot in infected broken glass, you two can have all the condomless sex you want. Make sure she takes her pill everyday, make sure you don't lick people's hands, don't hump feces-covered toilet seats and you'll be fine.

Oh and, if the hotel you're staying at has wet spots on the sheets, get your money back and sleep somewhere else. They've probably got AIDS infected mosquitos there anyway..

hepatitis can be contracted through oral contact. meaning, if either of them made out with someone who had hep, they could both have it. however, this is unlikely.

TexasLiberationArmy is basically a misinformed jackass. in another thread he said that you could marry a first cousin. mojo beat me to it, but pretty much everything he posted was shit. STI's can almost never survive outside a warm body for more than a few minutes. this is why no one gets aids from mosquitoes.

You most likely do not have to worry about any STDs then. Granted you or your Gf have not done any other risky behaviors that run the risk of contracting them.
