That's for sure. They didn't have AIDS back then for starters...

im sorry, but that is so wrong. People may be more cautious about their sex lives than they were in the 60's, but look how many "suprise" kids there are now a days. Look at how many pregnant teenage girls you see. Go to an AIDS ward, and see people dying. Go to a high school, and find out how many 16 year old kids are actually virgins.

Today, people are nowhere near as cautious as they might need to be. Diseases are prevelant. Look at Herpes, AIDS, and HPV. Illness, no matter how treatable it is, is no good. Even if we go back to free love with condoms, theres the possibility of a broken condom, forgetting a condom and saying oh well about it, herpes can be contracted through oral sex...etc.

your post was really kind of sad in my opinion. It made me think about societies carelessness

If a girl gets pregnant its no ones fault but hers. If she didn't want to have a baby then she should have put the condom on for him.

True true. I look at it like this:

If you are going to have sex with someone, not only must you be prepared to share love/fun/whatever with them, but you also must be ready to share bodily fluids and everything that comes with them. That means almost EVERY contagious disease they may have, and possibly may not kno they have. You have to share the diseases of everyone else this person has been with recently, and everyone those people have been with, and so on and so on.

Remember, without your health to enjoy life, everything is worth about nothing.

Well in the 60's there wasn't a small word with a big meaning and that is A.I.D.S.

I see lukes point...people were alot more "care-free" back then, but the results were often quite nasty...But humping like rabbits is a hopeful prospect...

That's awfully naive. The only difference between then and now is AIDS. There were sitll plenty of teenagers pregneant. There were still many many teenagers who were sexually active. Hell, there were plenty of teenagers who were sexualy active in the 50's. You didn't see it because any girl who got pregneant was removed from school and sent away for a year to have the baby, who would then be give up for adoption in most cases. On the plus side, now the vast majority actually do use protection.

If you want some statistics go do some research. Teenage pregneancy is actually decreasing, as is drug use. The number of teenagers who are virgins is also increasing.

Granted, if they ever find a cure for AIDS, it'll probably be like discovering the pill all over again.

I think it's a matter of perspective. Anyone here actually live in the '60's? It might have seemed to be this era of sexual freedom, but that was more in the context of comparing to the decades that came before.

Sex is everywhere. Everyone does it, all the time. Most gals I know, including myself, have at the very least one guy we'd call a "fuck buddy." We'd never impose restrictions such as "never fuck on the first date" because what if you really want to? Then you have head-trips about sex if you go imposing obligations on when/where/how/who/why you fuck.

But this sort of sex is an adult thing, and most teens are going to handle it differently. Emotions and hormones run high at those crucial development ages.

It's all fun and games until your dick falls off.

VD isn't like it used to be, it's now new and improved.

You be like to the doctor "uhh doc, what it mean if fire shoot out ya dick when u piss"

"Lemme get this straight, you're feeling a burning sensation when you urinate?"

"No, fire shoot out my dick, i can't pee in the house or i burn it down. One time I was peeing outside and some guy comes up to mug me and I burned 'im on the spot."

jack's missing mind: i said nowhere in my post that random free love sex was ever a good idea, whether or not it was in the 50s and 60s or now, and whether or not aids is about. I was simply pointing out that he is wrong in assuming that people are cautious today. If you look up statistics today, you will see that people are not being "cautious" about sex. Whether or not the statistics are going down, i still see 14 and 15 year old kids who have children of their own. That isnt cautious, even if the average on a whole goes down. sorry if i worded things badly, but i am not seeing how my point was naive.
