Default would you change

would you change to be with a girl/boy. This is all because my friend is speending all this money to look like a goth to get with this girl that he likes. He's speending about 100 pounds/175-ish dollors to change his look and his hair. My question still remains would you change alot to be with a girl/boy.

your thoughts pleese

I would have to consider it, I'd ask the girl first if she doesn't like me wearing what I'm wearing. And if she doesn't then perhaps because I like her I'll wear other stuff. A good example is goths, I wear black clothes, and if a girl I like finds that offensive and tell me that it is I'll not wear it. Changing your clothes isn't bad, but your personallity thats a different thing.

the only people worth changing for are the ones that dont want you to change.

honestly, if she doesnt love your friend for who he is, she isnt worth it. It doesnt matter how much he spends. I guess its more important that he doesnt change his personality, but outward appearance usually is a definition of that, right?

Ack! I know life is complicated and every situation is unique, but it is generally a sucky idea to change yourself to conform to another's idea of acceptability. The only reason to "go goth" is if the person really wants to, and thinks it suits him/her. Even if the person just likes the "fashion," that's a better reason to adopt a new look/attitude than trying to woo someone.

*dragging out the cliche*

Just be yourself! Otherwise, your true soul mate will just walk on by, wondering what the hell is up with the pasty white face.

This is probably one of the best phrases I have heard in a long time. When I read that I could barely even think of a suitable way to compliment you.

Take Care,

As long as you're not changing the way you are, the way you act, etc., then do whatever. Of course, packaging yourself in a way that makes you uncomfortable will make you act differently, so wholesale changes are very rarely workable or any sort of a good idea. At most, tweak yourself a bit to get someone's attention, then let things work as they will.

Seriously, it is not worth it to change yourself for someone else. If someone wants you to be someone you're not, that person is not worth it. If they cannot accept you as you are, screw them.

Definately, I would sell my soul for love. However, I get a lot of shit about wearing only black but not by the girls that are interested...
