Default Just curious about female mentalities

How come every rebellious girl I've ever met has the english skills of a third-grader, and every girl smart enough to know the difference between an allotrope and an isotope would never even DREAM of commiting something unusual/rebellious/illegal.

Why is this?

Why can't I ever find someone reasonably smart AND not a goody-goody?

Ouch. You two got a grudge or something? Sheesh.

Best I can tell, the smart girls got smart because they weren't rebellious and paid attention in school. As smart ppl, they are smart enough NOT to do anything illegal. They aren't infulenced by testosterone like all guys are, smart or dumb. That's probably why smart guys still do stupid things.

Because you're still in high school (I think), and damn near everybody is more or less one-dimensional at that point. A certain style will attract certain minds, and they'll begin to emulate it; but only through experience do they learn of other ways to do things and become more well-rounded individuals. Shy of 20, the vast majority don't have that experience yet.

Give it time.

okay...im not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but i am a smart girl (or at least i think i am). i really love mathematics. I love it. if you sit me down with a math book, i will be happy for a while. i know enough about the other hard sciences to at least be able to hold a conversation about them or learn from what you tell me. I will hold a political debate or a religious debate with the best of them. i also steal random things to decorate or to give people as gifts (yeah..im cheap too).i am not i do other random illegal things. as you discussed in your post, i also do many unusual things, because it is fun in my mind. I am by no means a goodie goodie.

Spiffy is right that most highschool girls will be 1 dimensional. You just need to get out there and look. If you have to, find a smart girl and teach her your illegal ways

okay, i'm still in high school and i'm smart without being a goody-goody. i'm not rebellious because i don't really need to rebel against anything, but i have two below-the-belt piercings, i've smoked pot on the high school grounds (while school was out), and i've dated a guy 5 years older than me. i think that qualifies me for not being a goody-goody. and i consider myself smart because that's what everyone tells me, i don't get myself into trouble, i have a reasonably decent iq, and i can hold intelligent conversations with people a good deal older than me.

Hmm. My experience with this is that guys claim to want a girl that's both street smart and book smart, that's subversive and rebellious, but when it comes down to it, I get dumped for some goody-goody. I don't think guys really want someone who knows about complicated synths and other fun stuff, to bear and raise their children. Meh. It's all about timing, I guess.

I've noticed this too. In my observations, it seems that by and large guys don't do this because they wind up disliking the truly rebellious chicks. It happens because they think the theory is great, and when they finally meet one, it's the shit until it reachs a point where the guy realizes he can't handle it. (In fairness to some guys, because there are so many girls who act rebellious and then turn into girly-girls, the fact one is really and truly that way is what does them in.) I can name a few friends I have around here who, were they to actually get a girlfriend, might very well be prone to doing this sort of thing.

Ironically, it's the two who are already comfortable with being the dominant force (not that they necessarily are) in a relationship that have girlfriends. The others don't, in part because they have very little skill with women, but also because of what I just said- they couldn't handle the girls they think they'd like the most.

As for me.. this past weekend got me thinking.. but I'll make a new thread about that.

its pretty simple dude, smart chicks don't do stupid shit (illegal/rebelious) because.... drumroll please... they're SMART. In other words they know better, novel idea eh?

When you grow up and get smart enough to know better too then you can enjoy the company of these brainy young sheilas.

As you get older the girls won't get cooler or more daring, but it will seem like it because you'll just get smarter and eventually come to the realization that being rebelious is pointless (you're already in control of you and you don't have to prove it to anybody, the sooner you realize that the less stupid things you will do to yourself) breaking the law is foolish, and that everyone is "unusual" enough without putting extra effort into it.

I think you're looking in the wrong places. Lots of the girls I know (including myself) are extremely smart without being complete "shy girls."

This is to say, I would consider myself fairly rebellious. I'm not scared of too much, and I'm up for fun now and then. My math and science skills aren't the sharpest, but my english skills are insanely above average. I read like I'm never going to be able to again. (That is, at least 300 pages of a good book a day or I go into withdrawal.) My friends are similar, ranging in intelligence and level of rebellion. However, by no means should you have trouble finding a girl like this. But chances are that the girl chugging beer out of two 40 oz bottles at once and flashing everybody within sight is not so bright. So, as usual, it's all in your definition- how smart does the girl have to be, and what do you classify as non-goody-two-shoes behavior?

Personally, i'd look at the girl chuggin and flashing as something to fuck, but the smart girl as a potential long-term mate.

If you're gonna act like a sex object, prepare to be treated like one.

Hurrah! Hats off to ihatemarshians, deadly cindy and spiffy! Smart girls don't have to ride the rebellion wagon to lift them around. Too bad smart girls can't learn to avoid loser men in the process. But right on, after a while, guys want a whore in bed but a saint at home.

And when you can tell me the difference between a chronotrope and and inotrope, you can play with me heh.

is this (forums and chat rooms) the only contact with the opposite sex u get? get out more, man...those 'rebellious' chicks with a brain are out there (*ahem* me!) but, sorry to say this, they're probably the type that wouldn't date you. i tell this to heartbroken guys all of the time - if a certain 'type' of girls (or whatever you believe your 'type' of the opposite sex is) you're going for keep rejecting you, change your 'type'! chances are that they're gorgeous on the eye but empty upstairs (a lot of guys can't see through this) and are only going for the male equivalent!

btw...i dont have a 'type', last guy i dated was a breakdancer - rebellious,cocky...player? (nahh) and we use 2 have heaps of fun spraying the town our own way. guy im involved with now is a romantic sap who recites his own freaking philosophies...such a turn on!so those are 2 extremes...try it some time kiddies.

Grr. "illegal/rebellious" is not necessarily "stupid shit." Being "rebellious" is just about maintaining interests outside the mainstream, and being curious about things that, for no really good reason, are unlawful.

I had a "friend" over the other night while watching a "Nightline" special on explosives. They showed a cigarette pack that was rigged to blow up if someone reached inside. I realized, and said out loud, "hey, I'm pretty sure I could make that" and proceeded to describe in detail how. I also explained how I never would actually make such a device, or any device specifically designed to cause injury and destruction. Still, the guy has not called since. This is a guy that, at age 33, runs a subversive 'zine and plays drums in a punk band.

Whatever. Guys are confusing. I guess I should don my apron and bake pies.

Rebellious girls rebel in school so they are not paying attention to their education...This makes them stupid but popular.

Smart girls (the ones I like to be with!) will sit quietly and learn but not be that popular...And they will more than like me jeered by a group of fellas in the changing rooms!

Just the paths that people choose...Some want to think of their future and learn...Some think that popularity is important.

Although it's a great laugh to bump into one of the popular girls when you leave school and they are no longer popular and are out of work...or say "Do you want fries with that?" alot!!!

God, this topic is still alive?

Anyway, after much reasearch out on the field , I've come to the conclusion that girls try to fit into mainstream society more then boys - they are more 'mouldable' then their testosterone-charged counterparts.

The possible exception to this rule, are girls who reject society in a heavy way, but they usually have no direction and end up being 'rebels without a cause'.
