Well, I'm not overweight (5'5", 135-140 lbs, not much of that is muscle, though) but I am a bit chubby. I'm trying hard to get in shape, but until then, what do guys think of chubby girls?

I've never had an actual boyfriend, just stupid junior high things. And as far as I know, no one likes me right now. Lots of people on totse have said that I'm pretty, but that probably has to do with the fact that I'd only ever post flattering pictures of myself. In real life, only my parents and best friends have said that I'm pretty.

Anyway, what are your guys' thoughts?

Chubby girls arent that bad. Most of the girls who consider themselves that arent really. As long as they arent HUGE nothings wrong. Infact. Girls who are SKINNY where u can see their ribs n such i find disgusting and major turn off if i can see ribs..

I don't mind chubby girls at all, in fact a lot of slightly chubby girls I have met have *nice* breasts. Girls fret about their weight too damn much. A friend of mine looks pretty damn skinny, and she still thinks she needs to lose weight.

....then again, I tend to fret about my weight too, im 150 lbs (5'8 height) myself...

Yes, chubby girls can look good. Personally, I like something more then bone.

Curvage=good It's all gravy as long as you don't have a huge beer belly with hair on it(a small belly is nice, though).

Have you seen Mia Tyler? she's gorgeous but overweight, and when i see these skinny lizes at college they put me off my lunch...

Personality means far more to me, and you have a great personality, it takes individuality to refuse to follow the media's path of being a super slim, makeup obsessed, complete bore of a girl.

Honestly, being a little 'chubby' to the average anorexic is no bad thing...and i'm sure you'll find many guys who have feelings for you...

Sick boy, I have seen your pics and you are not fat, If there wasnt a great distance between us in location and age, I would ask you out. Girls with a healthy amount of meat on their bones are some of the sexiest women in the world.

There is an old Norse proverb that warns not to mock another mans choice for women give men courage in battle. Basically if you make fun of what another person thinks is sexy, prepare for an ass kicking!

Your height and weight don't put you in the unhealthy category, which should really be concern number one. You're fine there. Getting in shape isn't bad, but if you do, I strongly suggest throwing your scale out the window. Simply watch your body and judge if it's improving. Depending on how you work out- essentially, if you hit the weights (which is an excellent idea, btw, if you're serious)- you may very well gain a few pounds while improving your physique drastically. But if you're checking your weight a lot, you may see no change and get frustrated.

As for your looks.. people who are attractive from every angle are the ultimate rarity. The fact you can find flattering pictures of yourself to show is already a plus in your corner. You've said repeatedly that you pay very little heed to almost anyone else, so the fact not many people have said you're pretty in real life shouldn't bother you. I've never seen a picture of you, but judging by the words of you and others, I don't think you have too bad of a problem with that, either.

If it's really starting to nag at you that you don't have a boyfriend, then hit the weights, get that improved shape in, and I'm betting you'll be able to pick and choose. Given your attitude, that's probably just what you need- having to choose between loneliness and the odd person here and there who you don't quite fit with but has an interest in you can be hard after awhile, no matter your convictions in terms of waiting for someone you click with to come along, and (in my opinion) you definitely need the right fit.

I had something deeply philosophical written here before, but it was kinda off topic, and mostly worthless. I'll paraphrase it-

Everyone has a different opinion about what is attractive.

So yes. Overweight girls can most definately look good, depending on the disposition of the other person.

Your height and weight sound healthy to me. But I remember high school, and the standards. Being physically active is the best thing to do. Even if you just go take a 2 mile walk every evening after dinner, by the time school starts again you will probably like the results.

Weight distribution had alot to do with it, too. Some people have really weird proportions. But you sound fine. I'm 5'5 and weigh 125 lbs. I've gained 10 lbs in the past couple months and no one can tell except my jeans (they're so unforgiving).

140 pounds in fat looks alot different than 140 pounds in muscle. Since muscle weighs more than fat you may look smaller. Spiffy was right about working out, I used to work out 2 hours a day and half of that was aerobics. I didn't lose or gain anything but my stomach started looking nice.

All women always think they're fat. There are always problen areas that our mother's have inflicted on us. You just need to learn how to accept it and be healthy.

Chubby girls can pull off being "hott." I know someone of your exact height and weight and alot of guys would kill to date her. Why? Personality. Also, since you know you are going to try to lose weight anyway, you can hide a couple extra pounds by wearing baggy clothes. Not only does this make you look skinnyer but it also makes the skater/punk people look at you. The best way, hands down, to lose weight is to keep a strict schedule of basic sit ups, and long walks. Try this, it worked for me to lose 15 pounds: (I weigh 175, mostly muscle) walk around for about an hour a day, maybe with some friends, or just by yourself listening to a cd. Do this about 5 times a week. It will start to show. You could always walk more, but that worked for me. It took me 2 months to lose 15 pounds just walking around. Also, get into a sports activity... You would be suprised how much a simple backyard game of football works out the body. And lastly, the situps... They are easy. Figure out how many you can do comfortably in 3 sets, and then go for it. Every week, up it by about 5-10 a set and you will be fine.

I hope this helps. It worked for me. If you have any other questions you can E-mail me or whatever. I will be glad to give you more ideas.

this is an interesting topic for me, since i have chronic issues about my weight and how i look. i'm 5'11 and weigh around 167, a size 11 in jeans. i've got muscle, but i consider myself chubby. i'm unbelievably self-conscious about every bit of flab, especially on my stomach. yeah, i've got issues. i don't think anyone could find me attractive, because i don't think i am. i'd post a pic, but i haven't had any taken since 7th grade, and i'm at the end of my junior year of high school now. (what's ironic is that i was heavier then)

I must've missed the whole overweight thing. I don't see it. But if you used to be in better shape, hey, I'll call you whatever works as the best motivation to get you back there.

I just read through all these posts again and you guys are so awesome. I'm guessing most of you are out of highschool, though. *Sigh*. Oh well, only a year left.

My whole life I've cared deeply about what other people thought. And I actually was chubby. I've lost lots of weight since junior high, but it's still hard to shake those life-long insecurities. I've only decided in the past few months to not care what other people think, but sometimes I lapse back into my old ways of thinking. Like I did when I made this post. But oh well, the things you guys said made my day. It is really sad about paulkd's daughter though, because I'm sure there's millions of little girls like that...

On a side note, I ordered "Power 90" from an infomercial and I'm so excited. I've only done it for 3 days, and I've already lost 5 lbs without changing how I eat. And I eat alot, lol. So I'm pretty sure I'm on the road to getting fit and being happy with myself.

Anyway, I'm babbling now and I'm sure no one wants my life story. So I guess the point of this post is just that it's so great to know that there actually are nice guys out there...

But if you really feel like your over weight or want to cut down. Start exercising regularly and try to not overdo it or wear yourself out. Overdoing it will only make you want to stop or feel like its to much and you will just eventually just stop or give up. And when you get bored don't eat, go for a walk or something lame like that. Thats one of the biggest reasons why people are fat these days. They sit around and watch, tv get bored/feel bored.. they go eat. Its one big cycle.

Seriously, though, you ain't ugly. You're not exactly "the hottest girl I've seen in, well, forever", but you're solidly above average. You're not overweight, just out of shape, and that's a major difference. Overweight chicks can be attractive, but it's pretty rare. Girls that aren't in shape really have nothing wrong with them.

How old is highschool? I'm 16, still 2 years left of secondary education over here. Judging by your pictures, if they are up-to-date, you are exceedingly hot and most definetely not overweight. Don't worry yourself.

There are lots of guys out there who not only think that overweight girls are "ok", they think they are "fantastic!" and they prefer them to thin girls... I can't honestly understand it, perhaps the girls' imperfections somehow make the guys feel better about themselves?

My stance on both overweight girls and guys has always been - it's not a "looks" thing, its a health thing. My highschool sweetheart was only 3 inches taller than me and he weighed 60 pounds more than I do, so you could say he was "chubby" but he also was the fastest sprinter in the entire school and was the best player on the soccer team.

I won't date someone who is overweight to a point where it effects their health. I neither admire nor am attracted to the type of person who overeats, or sits around too much, or doesn't have enough self respect and self restraint to keep their body in good shape. Gluttony is NEVER an attractive characteristic. It's never "its whats inside that counts" when what is inside is a person who will over indulge in food and inactivity.

Oh, and I have no problem with girls that are a bit chubby, although I VERY much prefer girls that really desire to take care of themselves. And of course, part of this is not being super-skinny nor super-fat.

Well, ANYWAY, but if you want to get into shape, and more healthy, I'VE GOTTA APPROVE, because it really drastically alters your mood, health, physical appearance... really just EVERYTHING. I'd start by throwing out that damn scale, as someone before recommended, doing some weight training and just being active in general, doing things you enjoy doing, and really changing your diet around. Basically, don't change the amount of food, change the kind of food. Cut out ALL or nearly all processed foods, refined sugars and starches (including white bread and white buns - real "whole grain" bread shouldn't be so starchy and sticky in your mouth, and usually retains it's shape after being squeesed, while white bread will deform), fruit juice, and dairy.

Eat more fish, veggies - like salad with something like an olive oil + balsalmic (sp?) vinegar dressing. Eat plenty, as much as you want, whenever you want. Eat regularly, like 5 times a day or more, and small meals.

These pretty basic guidelines really should help BIG TIME.
