"Four students have been suspended, and three of them face criminal charges,

after a 15-year-old allegedly brought explosive devices to Monte Vista High

School in Danville last week." -- The Contra Costa Times

http://www.bayarea.com/mld/cctimes/c...ws/5936773.htm

http://www.bayarea.com/mld/cctimes/c...ws/5958590.htm

After this story came to my attention today, I would not be suprised if local law enforcers tried to engage people on the Bulletin Board and attempt to entrap them into committing felonies. If you haven't already figured it out, anyone on the Bulletin Board who is attempting to find new friends to help them break old laws is probably a cop. Try to remember that the Bulletin Board and the web pages on this site are here make people think, not to help them act like irresponsible idiots.

From the FAQ:

Q: Isn't the information you provide ILLEGAL? WHY AREN'T YOU IN JAIL?

A: The topics on this system cover a wide range of activities that if you

actually DID them, you'd probably be breaking a law in some part of the

world. In some places, just TALKING or WRITING about these activities is a

crime, in other places, THINKING about these activities is a crime.

Luckily, the creators of this site live in the United States of America, and

in the United States of America we have this document called the Constitution

which contains a totally radical section called The Bill of Rights. The very

first thing you find in The Bill of Rights is this way cool item called The

First Amendment. It reads like this:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or

prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or

of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to

petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Now the Congress of the United States keeps trying to find ways to put limits

on the First Amendment and Freedom of Speech. There are laws against

"inciting violence", laws against sedition, sinister "conspiracy" laws (which

infringe on your right to assemble and speak freely), and then there's

Attorney General John Ashcroft and the Patriot Act, and soon we'll have

Patriot Act II, all nibbling away at the basic freedoms enshrined in the

Constitution. (Did you know that John Ashcroft once ran for the U.S. Senate

representing the State of Missouri, his opponent DIED before the election,

and the voters ELECTED THE DEAD GUY rather than have John Ashcroft as their

Senator? G.W. Bush felt so sorry for the guy that he appointed him Attorney

General. True story. But I digress...)

The point is that this web site DOES NOT ENCOURAGE ANYONE to break the law. We

DO encourage people to READ, TALK, and above all to THINK. In order to be

able to THINK FREELY and CLEARLY, you need to be able to read material from a

WIDE RANGE of sources, not just from sources that John Ashcroft would approve

of. You need to be able to read ideas that any right-thinking person would

vehemently oppose, and YOU need to figure out if YOU should oppose these

ideas, embrace them, or ignore them. It should be up to YOU to decide what

you believe in, not someone warming a chair in Washington, D.C.

That's why we're here and that's why we do what we do.

I wouldn't be more worried than normal. There have been many worse incidents that would tend to cause the police to try to entrap us, and they haven't gotten us yet. Entrapment is always a concern, though.

I find it ominous that one of the articles made a direct quote from the H-bomb Article in KaFuckingBoom. So they got info from totse, yeah pigs everywhere!

BTW Jeff or J.C., could you please do something sbout all the bullshit articles in Bad Ideas, so many are from the Anarchists cook book and either out of date or pure bullshit. All that Phone Phreaking is so out of date it wont work anywhere. The Terrorist and Anarchist Cook Books have down right wrong info and are dangerous, yet many of their articles are on here. These articles here on TOTSE are causing a flood of people into Backyard Ballistics with really bad ideas and misconceptions. Maybe you could ask one of the mods which ones are bullshit if you have no direct experiance to draw from.

Thanks anyways.

In the FAQ it says that articles that contain information that is false, or wont work most likely wont get deleted because of the disclaimer for the pages on the site as quoted "We do not guarantee that any of the information contained on this system is correct, workable, or factual." So in part, they rather have us (the people) to sort out the truth on our own instead of having them work and delete something. -> "After all, the only way you're ever going to learn to use that brain of yours is if you give it some exercise."

==========================================

Mr Hunter, with all due respect, you are an inbred retard who doesn't know shit about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. All of the freedoms in the original Bill of Rights were written solely for the Ruling Class of several dissenting colonies who were not going to ratify the Constitution without some built in protection for the RULING CLASS of those several Colonies because they were at varience with the other colonies on several issues. 'Freedom of the Press' for example was only for those wealthy elite rulers who OWNED the propaganda print shops, the printing presses. The SAME is STILL TRUE TODAY.

NOW, *YOU* have a website on the internet and you can call that a 'Press' if you want to, but YOU, nor your other miseducated and brainwashed fucktards certainly do not interpret what the Bill of Rights means. The ruling class that owns and controls the representative dictatorship decides what the Bill of Rights means and if you create enough of a problem for them they will shut you down in spite of your 'free speech' rhetoric- Your rhetoric truly doesn't mean shit. I suspect that you will find that out soon enough.

You have been conned into believing that you have those rights, and the high Courts do allow a few strategic but highly FRIVOLOUS cases go through the courts to reinforce the LIE and ILLUSIONS that you have been led to believe about your so called 'Rights'.

Here is a clip that I copied from my post in the Bad Ideazs forum under the topic about marrying your cousins (inbreeding in America) which may help to explain a little bit to you:

[quote] Back to inbreeding; people were forced or compelled to abandon their historic cultures in order to declare themselves to be 'Americans' when there really was no 'American Identity'. There was no 'American' culture. All they had was a Flag and some patriotic songs about bombs bursting in the air over the American Flag, a very deceptive Constitution and so called 'Bill of Rights' which IN FACT was written originally to protect only the rights of the RULING CLASS. IT WAS NOT CONCEIVED FOR, NOR DID IT APPLY TO THE COMMON MAN. This is a fact that most people today do not understand about the US Constitution and the original bill of rights. The fact still remains today that: YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS UNLESS YOU HAVE THE POWER TO ENFORCE THOSE RIGHTS. Unless you have wealth and lots of resources to expend for PAID legal counsel, you have no rights.

Right now, I think that your website and others like it are serving the best interests of the US Military/Police State, it's departments, agencies, etc., because these websites are helping them to justify dumping billions of dollars into the Military/Police State in the interest of 'National Security'. At some point in the future it will benefit them to simply shut your sites down to illustrate to the general public and the Mad Mothers Against Bad Websites lobbies that all those billions of dollars have gone to good use.

I couldn't agree more, but you have to consider that what's important in this kind of situation is that most people do believe otherwise (e.g. there's no such thing as an unfair trial).

In order to prevent or repair any action taken by the ruling class against us common citizens, the constitution and bill of rights must be constantly referred to so that the majority can see what our government is really like (as opposed to the idealized myth taught in schools).

quote:NOW, *YOU* have a website on the internet and you can call that a 'Press' if you want to, but YOU, nor your other miseducated and brainwashed fucktards certainly do not interpret what the Bill of Rights means.

Actually, we do interpret the Bill of Rights. We interpret it to mean that we can publish what people write. That's what we do here.

quote:Unless you have wealth and lots of resources to expend for PAID legal counsel, you have no rights.

If you are saying that rich people have more rights than poor people, because they can pay to enforce them, well, duh.

Did it take you all day to come up with that one?

To quote the second, more indepth article...

The Web site where the student found the instructions has been in existence since 1998. It bills itself as a "safe haven for visionaries and paranoids" and features articles on such topics as anarchism, computer hackers and "a new punk manifesto."

and...

Other instructions on the site include "1001 Ways to Torture a Cat," "20 Ways to Sabotage Your School," "A Beginner's Guide to Phone Line Destruction" and "22 Ways to Kill a Man With Your Bare Hands."

Its a shame that even if they gave the URL to this site, no one would come here and see that there are many articles on this site that DON'T contradict the common moral values of society, and no one takes the time to see what the site is about, instead of just assuming its another site for troubled teenagers who are going through a rebellious stage.

Now if you asked any newsgroup if they thought they were unbiased, they would say yes. Fox News actually SAY they give you every side to the issue and unbiased coverage, but something tells me they would'nt mention such highlights on totse as "Meditation how to's" and countless articles on pure science and philosophy. There are many article sections that have nothing more controversial than the theories on the start of the universe, which is in an entirely different context than the controversy surrounding text files on bomb making and torturing cats. Does anyone really think a silly childish article on torturing cats, whether the creator really did perform such acts or not, actually influence someone to the point where they would be given the impression that torturing cats was fun and ok? If so, don't you think that their mental problems are so bad that anything in the world could be the fuel they need to snap and do undesirable things? The people who are worried about the influence these articles might have on someone are the dangerous ones, because theyre hindering thought with mindless protest, and it spreads like a virus to the point where no one thinks how seriously such an article could be taken and whether its really an issue that could corrupt a child before becoming worried that it may actually convince a child to do such things.

Do you think that a nation of worried parents would be as worried if they took the time to realize that totse and similar sites might not be about the violence and rebellion specifically, but teaching people to think for themselves, encourage some healthy debate on limitless subjects (though it does get very heated at times), and supplying the other side to a topic that people would otherwise shun if they didnt take the time to see both sides of the issue?

When hearing an argument on something new to me, i dont consider believing anything a person say to be true, until not only do i see multiple facts that support his case, but until ive researched the OTHER side of things as well to the same degree.

People can believe what they want, but i think they shouldnt trust in what theyre told or promote their ideas until they pursue the issue for themselves and see both sides of the issue.

Your thoughts?

[EDIT] fixed some errors, i type a whole lot of errors when i rant.

Ha, albany.edu, that's SUNY right? I live like 15 minutes away from the campus. Many reformers, like Andrea, want to censor the internet. The issue is that they want to censor everything that they perceive to be "bad". It is simply a matter of opinion. Some people, like me, enjoy porn. Oops...getting off topic. Anyways, forget the Constitution. Lil' Bush already wiped his ass with that. In censoring the internet, websites that are looked upon as beneficial by most would be removed by the sensors. It is similar to a margin of error in say, trying to scoop all the A's out of alphabet soup, you would of course get some other letters along with the A's. Except, in this case it would be intentional "error". Sorry, that's a shitty metaphor, I guess I need some sleep. The point is that; the loss in the amount of websites viewed as "good" by the majority of people that are deleted would outweigh the radical terrorist websites. The ratio of normal sites to "bad" ones is astronomical. There are very few people (yes, unfortunately there are some) stupid enough to be brainwashed into attempting a reatarded stunt resulting in unwarranted deaths. As for opinions, I believe that denying people of information is wrong. Regimes such as Hitler's have tried it. America is supposed to be a place of freedom. Wait...I'm ranting...sorry... I'll stop.

Long rant:

Apparently American media, and even some of its citizens have not learned from Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold's abrupt murderous statement. This is an issue that goes way back before recorded history. Who is responsible for what? And the real answer is anyone with a limited amount of intelligence is solely responsible for their own actions.

The media is obviously slanting this. The choice of words in the article was "recieved instructions from an internet site." To an uninformed imprssionable mind, this would indicate that the teenagers recieved some sort of command, mandate or order to make the explosives. yet even recieving orders (which the 4 teens clearly did not) is no argument for blame.

This was most poigniantly stated during the Nuremburg trials when it was decided that even a soldier is responsible for their own actions, and being given an order to kill does not excuse committing a murder, torture, etc. (Although the general purpose of military seems to be just that)

In typical media fashion, people will argue over who is responsible for this incident. "The internet!" "Satanic rock music!" "Violent video games!" Funny how people have been committing murder and violent acts long before technology existed.

Sadly, in the U.S.A. it has been determined in some states (like my sort-of-home FL) that 12 years olds can be tried as adults for murder and therefore are responsible for their own actions. With this sort of thinking, even marginally aware children can be legally held responsible for their acts.

Any action or statement towards blaming totse, is a desperate act of a person or group who can't seem to handle the idea that teenagers can and do think (or not in this case) for themselves. Poor social environments and structures result in poor social behavior.

Anyone who blames Jeff for these students taking explosives into their own hands and misusing them is wrong. Anyone who believes that Jeff does not have the right, in or outside the law, to maintain a webpage with information about explosives is wrong. To censor is wrong (unless you're censoring yourself).

It might be argued that it is Jeff's and anyone who posts this material on his site's responsibility to share whatever information they feel should be shared. If that is how to build an explosive, so be it. It is not the responsibility of government to legislate parenting and remove any "threatening" material from such site, despite what John Ashcroft may think.

From the standpoint of government, the biggest threat to America has always been its own citizens. The biggest threat to our nation is not terrorists (who by present law would include George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Sam and John Adams, etc.). The biggest danger we have and are facing is Americans allowing a tyrannical empire to be created without standing up and dismantling it. The "Founding Fathers" knew this, that's why the freedom to bear arms, or illusion thereof, was included in our laws. To make sure that people could violently defend themselves against a tyrannical government. Unfortunately, the "Founding Fathers," as rich property owners, were banking on Americans being too stupid to realize their own power. The scary question is, are we?

Clyde R was partially right in pointing out the seemingly futile excerising of our "freedoms". But freedom belongs to any one who takes it and refuses to give it back. The natural state of a human is freedom. America may be full of illusions and lies. The executive, legislative and judicial branches of our federal and state governments may work to best serve the top 1% wealthy elite, but as long as some Americans actually do continue to propagate (note choice of words) information that covers the entire spectrum of human knowledge, pieces of freedom will remain. John Ashcroft and Bush's "post 9/11 America" will have to pry my dissenting opinions from my cold dead head.

Once again, thank you Jeff for acting on, maintaining and believing in our freedom of speech.

Very well written. But Sam Adams wasn't rich. He was a very unsuccessful man.

Anyway, I think America needs a revolution. We need to get rid of all the dumb richies who think that because they have more money than the common man that he knows better than the common man. We need to do away with the parents who think that THEY should decided not only what their children take in, but what everyone's children take it.

We need to stop worrying about all these dumb, poor 3rd world desert countries that have nothing better to do than to kill each other with suicide bombers. We need to start realizing that our own government is our worst enemy. I think it was the political parties that did our freedom in. Before the Republicans and the Democrats took over everything, a poor man born in Kentucky who taught himself to read could become president (Abraham Lincoln). Now, you must be a wealth politician.

It is my belief that all the poor and middle class people of the country need to rise up against the government. America, my friends, is in need of change. We need to revolutionize our government and our ways of thinking. We need to adapt our old isolationist stance like we had pre-December 7th, 1941. Our greatest threats our internal, not external. If we just sat here by our selves, do you think Bin Laden or any other dumb ass terrorist would bother us?

Sorry if that was a bit hard to follow...I'm not the best writer and tend to jump from thought to thought.

If they are stupid enough to GET CAUGHT with it, then yes they deserve to go to jail. Seriously possesion shouldn't be illegal, possession on school property...ok yes but they were stupid. I heard that some member or another got arrested for stopping a firemen from going into his burning apartment because of the explosives inside being hazardous. He did the guy a favor and yet got arrested, oh well thats the price we pay for our "freedoms" and "security". Oh, anyone who is interested, someone posted something on that womans site today. I haven't gotten done reading it though. http://www.albany.edu/~bret/critical_tools/300z_fall_2000/annotator/andrea_causal/2_Andrea.html

What are the chances of Totse being closed down for any of the text files? That worries me greatly.

The whole Idea of closing down a website because of it's text files On how to make things is ridiculous anyway.

I mean, I have a book on how to make a Ferrari Testarossa, and a list of materials I would need.. Doesent mean It is actually POSIBLE..Right?

I think that ClydeR thinks that the man is after him. Lay off the cocain man. You sound like a paranoid crack head that thinks that the government has camaras in every toilet in America and controls everything that we do. There is such a thing as free speech my arrogant/ignorant one. For example, I can say "Bush is an incompitant president and should be removed from office" or "Bush is a fucking idiot. Someone should take that retard out to the back of the barn and put him down". Freedom is everywhere (in America); yes the rich may have it good and often times the poor get screwed but that's life. Individuals can make a difference if they care enough to try. You're just a narrow sighted (probably) teenager (at least you think like one) that has read some crackpot internet maneur about how "nothing is real" and how "the man's got us under his foot". Fucking please.

Not all pressure bombs cause toxic gases. Dry Ice bombs only release CO2 and Drano bombs only release hydrogen along with some liquid chemical vapors. As a moderator you should avoid miss guiding people.

I have made dry Ice bombs at school and the hall monitors watched as long as I was sober and following the rules of safety. That’s the way it should be; they should let kids learn about whatever they want in school as long as they do it in a safe manner. Also I do not beleave Dry Ice bombs are unlawfull to make as long as you are not destroying any ons property.

But then again:

Who knows; the kid was stooped enough to take a bomb to school maybe he was also dumb enough to blow some one up.

Actually even though I never really post here, I use to be a ToTSE addict back in the old days when it was a dial up BBS. I remember seeing that I had more logins than jeff at one point.

Well I remember at one point he had the FBI at his house because someone had been logging into ToTSE to search for files on creating a new identity. I don't think anything ever came of it.

Basically all the information is legal. Using it MAY be illegal. Seeing as many bookstores carry things like tha anarchist cookbook (or basically anything from Loompanics) I dont think there is anything they can do to ToTSE due to its having the text files.

man, the fuckin news is posting more lies. and the lies have spread here? i live in danville, and in fact, im close friends with the kid who brought the 'bombs' to school

there where 4 people involved: 1, the creator(my friend) and 3 other kids who baught them off of him

Yea, selling it is stupid.. but whats he gonna do, his dads a poor douche bag, and hes tryin to make a few bucks

is a few grams of AP in a penny roll, with no fuse, and no form of ignition, an explosive?

im hearing comments like "stupid teenager brining bombs to school probobly to blow something up"

the bomb squad themselves claimed that his devices where not explosive, they where incindiary devices without fuses.

so stop the fuckin lies, he isnt a terrorist, didnt bring "bombs" to school, and he definently isnt one of those "k3wl b0mb3rs"

he was suspended for 4 days as a warning. a day later, the news heard about it, and exaggerated it, then published a load of shit. when the school heard news stations everywhere calling him a terrorist, they heightened his sentence to 2 felonys and expulsion.

and after having my friend go to court(and got it lowered down to a misdameanor, due to the letters myself and many other of his friends wrote) and get expelled from school, the fuckin lies are STILL here, and they are going on on Totse?!

flame me, i dont give a shit. atleast the truth is out

Draino bombs only release a small amount of hydrogen, I've tested it myself. A fair amount is chlorine vapour as well, which is extremely poisonous (used as a chemical weapon by the Germans in WWI).
