| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Someone got wayyyy too much time on their hands.
And all those jumps and precision though, pretty damn good.

Re: Mario 64 beatin in 16 minutes
Never saw that but the accuracy of those jumps is a little concerning, guy must have spent a little to much time playing M64.
Was amazing though

Glitches or no glitches that's damn impressive! He didn't mess up once. I knew he meant business when he got to the castle in two jumps :P

I just finshed what was in the first 6 minutes on my 64 the same way he did. If I can do then the tools used couldnt have mattered much

Re: Mario 64 beatin in 16 minutes
The idea with these tool assisted movies is to manipulate the input to make the most kickass movie. So yeah, you could do the same thing with practice (sometimes a damned fucking lot of practice). My point was that if you dont know its tool assisted, you may admire the person's "skill" instead of the art of the video, and thus set yourself up for a disappointment.

Re: Mario 64 beatin in 16 minutes
Even though it says right on that page that the movie was made on an emulator using savestates and slowdown, I'm impressed.
I mean it's just funny seeing Mario flying around with the precision and skill of a ninja.
And, because someone is bound to ask, it says they used savestates and slowdown in the right frame, you have to scroll down to read it.

Re: Mario 64 beatin in 16 minutes
Hey I can't download any of the speed runs from that speed demo archive site. Any one have any insight that might help? Any help would be appreciated. I want to see this Silent Hill in 50 minutes or whatever.
