Cell PHone Caller ID
Is there any way to stop your name and number from appearing on a caller ID when you call from a cell? Not permanently, just once, like when you use *67 on a landline.

Not for mine. I've tried dialing it, hitting the call button, and dialing all of them at once and then hitting the send call button.

Does *67 work for landlines in your area?
Also, you might get a better response on this from NS&H.

Re: Cell PHone Caller ID
in some phones you have the option to hide your ID by going into the phone setting....like on mine
then there should be a option to hide your ID....it should take a few seconds for the phone to regester your request. you have now blocked your call ID from anybody you call from then on

are you trying to say that the above organizations can still see what #'s are calling, even when you block it? what about spoofing. i think this is true with normally using #67 or whatever, but having your # means jack anyway to ems if you have gps hacked or are in a building where the signal can't escape.

A few calling cards will allow you to hide your ANI and spoof your CPN.

Re: Cell PHone Caller ID
When you tell your phone to hide your caller id it sets a little flag like (shownumber=no) but it still sends your number. When this flag is set to no however, the phone you are calling still recieves the number but chooses not to display it. But this can easily be modified by anyone who knows a little about programming, since its only a software that decides not to display the number to the user, although the phone knows exactly where the call is coming from.
spoofing your caller id is a totally different story and only works with a few voip carriers. Here you send a fake number that you are calling from, and even 911 can't detectr the real number you are calling from.
