Web Site That Explains Radio Technology Visually By Letting You Interact With It
This seems pretty cool for learning radio tech.
I haven't played with it tooo much, so if anyone sees anything wrong, please post it.
You'll need Java installed AND working.
Notice you can download the animations, or run it on their web site. http://www.colorado.edu/physics/phet/web-pages/simulations-base.html

Too lazy to look at it, however. Having done electronics, i say that you need to have hands on training and i dont trust anything off the web.

uh thats because it is not something one 'sits through'.. its interactive, to show how radio waves might look, as you change frequencies and power, etc. it is one of the best things that i'v seen explaining this. but still falls short i suppose, because radio waves are NOT something anyone has actually 'seen'. i understand the self contained water-pump illustration and the pebble in the water one, but again, the all encompassing radio wave is apparently much more complex than these mere human illustrations. what do you mean. stations on short wave? on sw you need to know what you are looking for, so you can set the frequency and listen at the time of the broadcast-- just like am/fm pretty much--- but only more so because sw moves their frequencies as the day changes. if you are talking about equipment, cb shops, pawn and thrift stores are a good place to look for used stuff (and newspapers and trade journals of course). if you mean where do i find all this stuff i post sometimes-- well, i dunno.. just lucky :)

I love you Halvy. I played with the electricity one for a while, and I'm about to do it again. My dad is an electrician by trade, I haven't shown any of this to him, but I think I will.
