For lower abs, do anything that forces you to raise your knees to your stomach. If you have to lie flat on your back, fine, but an incline bench is preferable. If you can hold your weight on your arms and lift your legs straight up, so much the better.

For fighting, every muscle is important. You might have strong arms, but that doesn't mean you'll be a strong puncher- once you learn to put your whole body into it, that's when you can be devastating. Cardiovascular strength is important, too, in case the other guy doesn't go down after a few punches or there's more than one person trying to beat your ass. The best way to strengthen the muscles that are most important is to practice the moves you'd use in a fight on a heavy bag or other equipment.

Protein's supposed to help, but I'm not sure how much.. try doing a Yahoo search for info.

You know a really quick way to tone your abs evenly? Get a partner and have him drop a medicine ball on your stomach. You'll see damned good results within 2 weeks. This is, of course, if you don't mind the pain factor that accompanies this.

peace out.

I do not know how much you should take but I know protien is very important in gaining muscle mass. When I started lifting weights I got tremendous cravings for peanut butter, which has alot of protein in it.
I can usualy tell how much of something my body needs by paying attention to what foods I crave. This may work for you also.

ummm...be sure and empty the stomach contents first, or you're liable to lose your breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Protein should be taken in a ratio of 0.8 -1.5 grams per pound of body weight each day. Whey supplements are supposed to be the best to acheive this because of its fast absorption properties. I've also read that it is best taken with simple carbs.

lower abs? crunches, reverse crunches (also known as raising your legs perpendicular to the ground while on one's back).

as has been said before, in a fight, you'll more or less be using all of your muscles. But if you must train for fighting somehow, go with quick, jerking motion lifts, high weight, low reps. Also, as has been stated before, cardiovascular fitness is key.

Protein helps quite a bit. Get as much of it as you can.
