whenever there is a protest happening anywhere, the news will always pick the most ignorant person (i have seen a 10 year old girl speak for a protest of about 3000, it was fucking shameful) to speak. as a result the entire point is lost and everyone maght as well go home.

Also notice that everytime there is a tornado, they invariably interview the guy from the trailer park with the gap tooth and the number 3 Nascar hat.

So you're saying that a widow whose husband died in the spet. 11 thing(not sure if i should call it a bombing or what) is less valid then some one like you who doesn't live in this country? You are the one making stupid ignorant remarks here...

What he appears to be saying is that just because you are a victim doesn't mean that you are qualified to offer commentary on the situation. This is simmilar to when Barbara Streisand sends a fax to the Democrats offering them political advice. This is not saying that she is not entitled to an opinion, but what the hell does she know?

The grieving woman is being used to sensationalize the issue by the anti-war proponents. It is meant to grab at your heart and is not an appeal to your mind or reason.

And yet no one seems to care/notice when pro-war media does the same thing. Finding some pissed off person who has just lost a loved one and hasn't really thought about what they are saying yet, but just decides we need to kill whoever they tell us we do is no better than doing it the other way. And yet like I said no one cares or notices that, just when it goes the other way...

An entire thread devoted to the fact that the press loves sensationalism, regardless of the point of view. "If it bleeds, it leads". Now since both sides bleed, we (the press) can claim that we are 'objective and present both sides'. Just keep the blood flowing kiddies...all of this translates to viewership and eventually advertising dollars.

Well it is probabaly true. In all actuality she doesn't know jack shit about international politics and world history =)
