Hey, anybody heard anything lately about the world's various mercenary companies? I remember reading some stuff about Executive Outcomes a few years ago. I also heard about some guys contracting some less-than-legal jobs for the US down in Colombia. Anybody got the scan on that?

To become a mercenary you need to have actual soldiering skills. Otherwise what good are you? But if you join the mercenary U.S. military you have to put up with smelly monkies are mexican piranha rats, and bitchy female officers and asshole men.

Anyway, if you're really looking for mercenary work, you better be hard-core. Since mercs operate in such small groups, everybody's gotta be a fucking killing machine. If you aren't ex-special forces, I don't think I'd even bother. If you are, you could look at the ads in the back of Soldier Of Fortune, although most of those are bullshit. Ask some service buddies, they might have heard about some recruitment agencies. And of course you could try and get in contact with the big boys - Executive Outcomes, Wackenhut, etc. - and tell them you're looking for work. They're always looking for fresh meat, especially now that the U.S. is plunking down MAJOR cash for hush-hush private ops in Colombia.

You might also try your hand at bodyguard work. Alot of mercenaries get their start with executive protection firms.
