Nationalism is pride in your nation, one that you have helped build, and therefore is healthy.

I think that everything can be used well, or misused.

Pride in one's country should be in everyone. If you don't like something, then fix it. If you don't like the asshole running for a political leadership postion, then vote for someone who you do like. If you don't vote because you like neither canidate, then either pick the one who fits your needs the most, or don't vote period, Or, leave.

Be careful about the definition. Do you really believe that even if your support for a country totally liberated from the reality of life, its still healthy?

Can you improve upon a country if you cannot see its faults?

I love my country, yet i can still see the faults. But why should i try to fix it when no one else seems to care.

I think that the major problem with a stae as a whole is that it seems to have lost its objective, the greater good of its people. It applies to most countries i can think of. The wellbeing of its citizens is being forgotten amonsgt the act of a states preservation.

I don't love my country, nationalism is a backwards ideology. It has its uses (like when you're trying to get your country out of another nation's empire), but apart from that nationalism is dumb & backwards.

Just saying thats its dumb and backwards doesn't justify why it would be backwards and dumb.

good definition naf. I read an essay by George Orwell that pretty much explained the same thing. So, no I don't approve of nationalism. But there's nothing wrong with a little bit of patriotism, as long as you can still critisize your country's actions when you believe they're wrong.
