i dont know, i've read a few of his books, and even he admits it himself, he says something like most of my ideas are crazy, but if just a third is good then its worth it. I've found that to be about right. Some interesting ideas if your into that kind of thing

I think Leary's best book was "design for dying." Simple, east to understand and points well made. I agree his other stuff is not always easy to digest and form a concept of exactly what he was saying. Or perhaps that was his purpose-to make one think. I Don't know much about the FBI connection other than perhaps this rumor was generated because he had done research at Concord Prison on inmates using LSD. Perhaps like John Lilly, after he dosed himself he realized he was working for the bad guys.
