hypercubes
I was wondering if anyone knows of any proposals, or has any on how to fold up a hypercube-
doing so would apparently require the ability to see other dimensions, on paper it looks like there must be some really obvious solution-
if anyone is not familiar with a hypercube it consist of 5 cubes on top of each other of equal size, and from the 4th cube up there is another cube attached to each side- also of the same size- it looks like cross only in two directions.
and apparently the shadow for the folded hypercube would resemble a cube within a cube.

Re: hypercubes
Try this flowchart: 1. Forget it, you can't see those dimentions and youre brain would/will implode upon attempting. 2. Smoke something illegal and then try step one again. Repeat until you lose interst in hypercubes and that all annoying 4th d.

Re: hypercubes
the hyper cube is a theory.
a non-dimensional figure is a point
a single dimmensin figure is a line
a 2-d 1 is 2 lines (1D figure) connected by the vertices, like a square.
a 3D figure, is 2 square connected by the vertecies.
a 4D ( hypercube ) is 2 cubes connected by the verticies. http://dogfeathers.com/java/hyprcube.html
here is a pic ( not the best I have ever seen, but .....)
sry about spelling

Re: hypercubes
another one from manchester. anyways those hypercube images are really confusing. who first discovered/made these. and can you make them physically, the only things that i see there are projections.

Re: hypercubes
yeah thats my point, i dont understend how you get from the cross shaped hypercube to the 4d projection - they dont seem to relate, i want to know if the cross shaped one has to collapse on itself, or something. About when these came about i dont know- but i know that salvador dali painted "christus hypercubus" so i guess that was a while back.
