mars dirt
what is mars soil made of, chemically speaking. im interested in how to break it up into differnt compounds. a labeled diagram of the molecules would be great.

It's made of the same stuff earth dirt is. Lots and lots of silicon dioxide. Iron oxide (that's what causes the red color).
Mars doesn't realy have "dirt". Mars has sand. Lots of sand, ground so fine by a billion years of dry winds that it makes dust look lumpy.

lots of oxidized iron making rust. Oxidizing is the natural breakdown of Iron.
