SEt your alarm clock so it is on buzzer. When it beeps, it seems to be very loud, and a very strong, clear sound. I've noticed when watching certain commercials that have the same note in them will grab my attention. Its very odd.

If this happened to everyone, and I'm not just screwed up, we could make 'grenades' that emit the same noise, and almost like a flash-bang grenade, will distract people fo a few moments.

like a phone ringing!
we are all tuned to listen for it, so why not make a phone grenade. once exploded, it will make a phone ringing sound, resulting in everyone checking thier pockets or bags to see if it is them. the resulting confusion allows whatever.

think about it, how many things beep that we need to pay attention to, microwaves, phones, vcrs, ovens. lots of things, its no wonder it grabs our attention quickly.

I doubt that a phone grenade would make a formidable weapon but the idea is sound. What would work better is a grenade that emits a very bright powerful light or a very loud sound.

When hearing one sound, if another sound is higher then that, it will block it out. SWAT teams have a grenade that is like a sound grenade. It emits a very loud sound, that is almost impossible to hear, but it leaves the enemy with a busted ear drum, unless if he surrenders.

When I'm about to fall asleep and my T.V.s on and I here a high pitch sound it will wake me up and focus my attention on the T.V.

just make an AIM sound bomb. Admit it, it would work. How many of you check your computers when the AOL commercial plays it? I know I do .

It is called a concussion gernade. Esentialy it a high explosive in a casing that does not fragment into lethal shrapnel.

Oh yeah!! I completely forgot about concussion grenades. But still, You could produce a phone rining sound with a relatively small item (like mini microphones) and put it in a bunker or something and set it off. People would go crazy looking for it.

yeah like when im on my computer and kerrang is on tv in the background, if that song plays that's got a phone ringing in it (dont know what the song's called) i always turn round to the tv. Also when i got my nirvana album and i put it on i'd always turn round because i thought it was the tv and i thought the video for it would be on. We just get used to doing certain things when we hear certain sounds.
