Default [warp]-[drive]

Apparently a Mexican mathematician (they have mathematicians in Mexico?) found a way around Einsteins theory of relativity. He portrayed his faster-than-light theory as a bubble with walls made of negative energy which would distort the space around itself. Thus in theory, if the bubble could contract the space immediately in front of it, and expand the space behind it, it could travel faster than light.
That sounds cool, although faster than light speeds have been achieved already by a pulse of light.
Either way, this dude, Miguel Alcubierre has some major holes in the theory and it has now been determined that shortly after initiating such a warp drive, the pilot would lose complete control over it and the results would be fatal, albeit colorful.
Does anyone else have any information on such theories?

I could swear I read something on an interstellar ramjet that worked in a similar fashion. Maybe not.

Interesting prospect, though. Has he provided any evidence that such a thing could actually exist, though?

I can draw you a picture of a talking rock, but that doesn't invalidate everything we know about rocks...

Mexican mathmations, lol, thats really funny.
I think their will be a "thing" faster than light one day, im wondering thought, if light is in the middel of the spectrum than why dont gamma rays travel faster than light. Is it this that say it cant, lambda X knew = speed of light?

Why would gamma rays go faster than visible light? The whole foundation of the EM spectrum is that wavelength and frequency are inversely related, and that property relies on a constant c.
