Default Earthquake Cracks

Im not sure if this is the correct place to post this question but i thought it might get some good answers.

2 days ago i felt my first tremor it was a 4.6 and i was amazed so i have a few questions.

#1When the surface of the earth cracks how far and how deep are these cracks?

This is completley irrelavant but still.

#2.People own plots of land do they own them to the earths core?

Hmm the troubles of not being able to sleep.

Peace Renegade,

The cracks can go for a ways, sometimes they skip along, I think because of the waves that cause them. I'm not sure how deep they go, I'm sure the crack starts filling in almost right away from the dirt drying and flaking off the sides, I have seen them 10 to 15 feet deep in Cali.

As for #2, no you don't own land to the earth's core. Everything underground belongs to the "G", and they are the only ones who can sell a permit to exploit these resources. Most of the time, you may not even own water rights to a plot of land.

I don't mean to diss your 'earthquake' over there in England, I'm happy you guys got to have one, pretty fun to watch the looks on people's faces. But a 4.6 in Cali doesn't even make the evening news unless it was a slow day. If its a 5.0 or above, you used to get a notice on the TV, 6.0 and up is a 'real' earthquake, anything above 7.0 is a 'rocker' and you don't want to see 8.0, those will wreck your day. I sat through so many in SoCal and southern Arizona you got to where you didn't pay too much attention to them.
