Re: Ever seen-
wire it and give me updates, and when you hook it up to a radio use a big ass antenna and also try broadcasting on AM

Re: Ever seen-
I take it you want to use the mike for covert use! Correct?
What you suggested wont work as:
If you were to wire it up to an old CB radio not only would it not be covert you also have the problem of the CBs internals needing around 12-13.8 Volts.
This would require either- A: a car battery B: a power supply
Which would also make the radio even less covert.
Also a radio is only as good as its aerial which needs to be tuned for the frequency to provide low SWR to gain effectiveness.
If you tell me in a bit more detail i may be able to help you with your idea.

Warweed, your reply made no sense.
And by the way, it's "modulation", not modification. But you knew that...

Re: Ever seen-
It sounds like you are trying to hook up a microtransmitter to an amplifier. Basically it would be easiest to just buy a transmitter.

Re: Ever seen-
There is a way i can make a microtransmitter or FM bug transmit 20-30 miles but it just depends how serious you are and how much money you have got!
I dont think you would have the resources as you only want to hook up a cheap $5 transmitter to an OLD CB radio board. So i wont go in to how you can do it unless you really want me to cause im tired and the less i type the better right at the moment!

Re: Ever seen-
Yeah you could send a 20mw signal 20-30 miles, if you had a 50 element antenna.

Re: Ever seen-
No even with a 50 element beam you couldnt transmit that distance with a FM transmitter that works on the 88-108Mhz running 20mw.
I have got a 21 element Yagi beam and running that power on that band i would only expect about 2 miles. And besides a 50 element beam is not what you would call covert!
But i do know how to get that range with that device while still making it covert and only running 20mw. But like i said you will need to have a few things and i doubt the starter of this post is willing nor has the money to do it, so i wont worry about explaining how to do it.

Re: Ever seen-
Sorry my mistake! Yes i do admit when im wrong. I just assumed he was trying to build a covert transmitter with more power to get a larger recieve range. The reason i "assumed" this is because the only devices in Australia that im aware of that transmit on the FM broadcast band, 88-108 mhz are bugs! They are classed as a LIPD (Low Interferance Potential Device). The original post wasnt exactly packed with information or specifications or what he even wanted to acheive. He said, kiddie microphone. A microphone is a one way thing, ie not a tranceiver. Which led me to beleive he was trying to make a powerful bug. After reading the post again he may even be trying to set up a pirate FM broadcast station. Im not quite sure. If the creator of the post can supply a bit more information im sure we could all help him in his quest Cheers and Happy DXing

Re: Ever seen-
It's hella easy to set up an am broadcast/clandestine station if you know what your doing. Using my ft-107m and a random wire I managed to jam radio disney. That cost less than $350 american. I've seen ts-520's go for $150 and I'm pretty sure that those have 160m on them.
