| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Favorite moment in a computer game
Ok.
Was there a time in a game which just amazed you. It amazed you that much you told so many people about it.
Mine would be - Zelda Ocarina Of Time - Completion of Gannondorf.
Also completing Golden Axe was really satisfying and the end music was great.
Sheer happiness i was at. What was yours ?
Peace Renegade,

Re: Favorite moment in a computer game
Yeah, The end of Links Awakening is quite cool but my favourite gaming moment has to be in Warthog's "Starlancer", Wicked game, anyway when you blow a huge enemy carrier to smithereens in a stolen enemy torpedo bomber is pure class. I also quite like playing the end part of the end level in Halo with a couple of mates (and a couple of heavy as hell x-boxes), driving warthogs trying to avoid all the posts and things is cool.
Chunkmiester Just realised how immature he sounds

yeah, I remember renting it for Dreamcast. it was pretty cool. I FINALLY beat super mario advance (smb2) last night. the feeling of accomplishment is great! and I only had 3 Hearts! it's a lovely ending, that's for sure. oh, yes. I was in Playdium, once, and there were a few of things that I will never forget: actually playing the arcade version of F355 Challenge, a real privelege, being that it's extremelly difficult to find anywhere else, the time when I was playing House of the Dead 2 using both guns, and when I actually beat Street Fighter Alpha 3 with one credit, using the street masta, ken.

Re: Favorite moment in a computer game
I've got three Greatest Gaming Moments tied for first: When I used to rail 3-5 people at a time every now and then in ultra-crowded, psychotic, Quake 2 deathmatch games. Ahh.. Raping entire 8-player teams as soldier in Quake TeamFortress and not dying was especially fun Winning Three vs Ones against my friends in Age of Empires 1, as Shang. I was that fucking good

Re: Favorite moment in a computer game
finnaly beating Mega Man X2 after owning it for 8 years and watching "zero" stand incredibly close behind "x" durring the long and pointless ending movie.
playing multiplayer "alien vs. predator 2" as alien and molting into a queen (i just love watching the marines run in horror)
on diablo 2X, finnaly being able to do solo cow runs in hell without dying.
in starcraft: brood wars, winning your first battle with another person on b.net
the amazing thing is that i still find time to get high and have sex

When the cop in Half-Life: opposing force says:
MmmmmMMMMmm. Candy.
When i cornered someone in MVC2, caught them in the air with Iceman's arctic attack, and the canceled it into Jin's Ultimate Cyclone.
When i launched someone with cable's anti-air assist (scimitar), went directly into the captain sword, and canceled into a hyper-viper beam.

you really have to be high as a kite to be good in cs i think. i remember on time i ran into a room full of t's and just watched as my crosshairs drifted to all the t's heads and proceded to own them all. oh the joys marijuana brings to electronic gaming.

Re: Favorite moment in a computer game
I dunno, Soldier of Fortune 2 has great moments, like when people jump right at you from the roof and all you do is look up and pull the trigger of your shotun, then watch his armless corpse fall to the ground.
BUT! THE greatest moment is in Metal Gear Solid when you fight Psycho Mantis, that whole thing on having to use the 2nd player controller is so bad ass.
Oh, also in Hitman 2, beating the Don down with a Golf Club, how great is that!
Actually, let me back up, the greatest moment (if you havent played this game i feel VERY sorry for you) is in Super Metroid. The whole game is amazing! But its great when you finally kick the last bosses ass! Also in the 1st Metroid, the battle with the last boss is also pretty dope.

Re: Favorite moment in a computer game
Favorite moments:
Going into the store and NOT buying Daiktana.
Seeing Jon Romeros head on a stick at the end of Doom 2.
Beating Homeworld (what an emotional ending, especially in a game where you never even see any characters).
Beating the first castle in SMB and getting that damn annoying "I'm sorry mario, but the princess is in another castle", it was annoying, but it filled me with a sense of duty like.."GOTTA FIND THE PRINCESS!"
