Hey does anyone still play Broodwars or Starcraft?? If so then what gateway do you hang out in and what is your bnet id??

I still play starcraft on my LAN, I think it's a great game, (I play protoss) but i never play online, apparantly activision (or blizzard) registered something along the lines of a starcraft2 website, hopefully they actually go through with it and create it.

ps for those that don't know broodwars is a add-on not the sequel to starcraft

Now that you mentioned that, is Blizzard going to be working on a Starcraft 2? It would really be a shame if there wasn't a sequel. I mean this is the best strategy game ever. And there are so many questions left unanswered. Like in the secret mission in Broodwar when you find out about Duran and his zerg/protos hybrids. That just needs a sequel.

I cant see why they WOULDNT work on a Starcraft 2. It was originally supposed to come out in like 97, but they kept it back to late 98 i believe (going off memory) and people are still fucking playing it. The graphics are horrible, but people still love it. They picked up that dead Warcraft and had to try to bring it back. I dont know what they are thinking making this other Warcraft shit, because Warcraft's greatness died when Warcraft I died.

There are MANY rumors about Starcraft 2. The most recent one i seen was the guy on a video saying that they werent currently working on it, but that they love the characters and the story, and that they would love to work on it again.

I tell you, these people need to get in fucking gear. Half-Life needs a mother fucking sequal too, because that modified Quake I engine isnt cutting it anymore...

As for the domain starcraft2.com being registered, there could be many reasons why they registered it, such as them not wanting someone trying to sell it to them at a later date(i think that was outlawed,) them planning to make a new one, or them simply wanting to make sure that no one gets the site and puts out mis-information. Bill Roper said that a StarCraft sequel was on the list of things to talk about. They will start development of it, but they haven't done it yet.

However, Blizzard has hired the BroodWar beta champ Zileas (he created the game StrifeShadow), so that says that they may be working on it soon. Keep in mind, that is working on it. They haven't done anything with an SC sequel as of yet and it's going to take several years to make.

What the hell are you talking about? It came out in 98 because it wasn't finished in 97. The graphics waren't horrible and besides graphics don't matter in strategy games (look at the original red alert, crap crapghics, awsome gameplay). And who sais Warcraft is dead? Warcraft still rulez.

Starcraft IS the best strategy game ever and I see no reason why they shouldn't make a sequel when people are still playing it. Same goes for Half-Life.

Anyone here tried War Craft 3 then?? What do you think about it??

Warcraft 3 is good (not as good as starcraft tho). Maybe it's just because I never got into Warcraft.

At the end of warcraft3 (during the credits) they show some zerg hydralisks and other SC related units in the little window where people talk from. Can we say cock-tease?

Blizzard is releasing Starcraft ghost. Wich is like an a 3 person adventure game.Its only on consoles, I dont know why they are waisting their time and betraining Pc gaming fans everywhere

Yes and it doesn't even come close to starcraft. Too damn boring.

I completely agree. And correct me if I'm wrong but I hate it when the buildings in AOE2 take about a month to destroy unless you get battering rams.
