| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Age of Empiers II problem
Everytime I play a standard game on AOE2 All of the computer opponents become allies with each other and gang up on me. The first thing each of them do is build a market and then they magicalliy become allies! How do I become allies with someone without forcing them to at the beginning of the game? How can i beat these fucker's assholes!?

Re: Age of Empiers II problem
I really havnt play AOE2 in a fucking long time but has it ever worked for you? Thats really not something that happens as games as error's,
I'd like to clear up how games do not magicly add hit points to enemy's, your damage does less, some reason when you get shot that you slow down...
Most likely when your setting up the standered game you choise a setting for something like starcrafts melee (all computers vs you), make sure you set it to FFA (free for all) and each computer has a different team number.

Re: Age of Empiers II problem
the comps will attack the highest score. it is fixed (to a degree) in the ex-pack but in the original you just have to battle it out. maybe you can download some AI scripts if its really annoying you, never tried it myself though.

Re: Age of Empiers II problem
i also havent played that game for a long time, but i do remember that there was a button which you were able to enable called "set teams"...i think. that means that if it is enabled the teams will be the same throughout the game, so you cant change diplomacy.

Re: Age of Empiers II problem
If you wanna beat the f uckers, its simple. You play as say, the turks, and go for the "walls made out of bombard towers strategy".
Then you slowly make your walls bigger, and eventually, uh...everyone dies :

Re: Age of Empiers II problem
Play less computer players. Or edit your own Scenario and make a Neutral player. (That never worked for me though, they always ended up allying with the computer)
I just play real defensive for a few hours then build a massive amount of missle troops (Frankish axmen or Jannisary rule), and have them protect a lot of cannon and trebuchet (and siege onagers if you got em.) Any army that comes near you to take out the siege engines gets obliterated from 50 yards out and you can just topple the whole map.
