what do you think the most overrated game of all time is? i have to say the resident evil series is up there. sure it was a good game but not that great. i also think that halflife sucks eventhough people are constantly raving about it.

Half-life is good over the net, or over lan. It's quite boring single player. As far as overrated i don't think so.

Off the top of my head i can not think of any overrated games. Probally becuase i don't listen to what others say about games execpt for my friends.

the ff series.

i agrere most of them sucked but i loved ff7. you have to admit it was a great game if you played it through to the end. it actually had a story element that was interesting and somewhat fresh.

My favorite games....

1,2 and 3.

ONE: Resident Evil Series, ALL OF THEM.

TWO: FF series, almost all of them

THREE: HALF LIFE, all the addons, etc.

To each his own or whatever....fuck....hee hee

all the ffs are good to play even if they are very similar.
half life is the best net game (not so much hl but the mods)

i think the most overrated game is metal gear solid 2. it had very good graphics and good gameplay but the farther u get in the story the dumber it gets. the story sucked compared to the first one. it turned into some sc-fi crap towards the end where nothing was as it seemed like a fucking twilight zone espisode.

ff7 was the only one I actually liked so far. I have yet to have time to crack open ff10.

Games I've played recently that didn't live up to their promise included Tsugunai : Atonement and Hoshigami

most overrated game? recently... THPS3 for PSone... that sucked. But it rocks for PS2. Less recently Red Alert 2... i ust couldnt stand that game... especially the whole mind control thing

DEFinately half life and definately THPS3

syphon detonator, have you played games for a long time? Half-Life was kinda the first FPS or 3DPS(not sure of the game type) game with a in game story line and a little use of strategy and other elements, thats why its comsidered as a good game.

ijust dont like the style and gameplay. there just something missing from it.

FF3/6 is the only ff I've really gotten into. One of my favorite games is probably overrated, this is one of the few times you'll ever hear me admit this sort of thing. Ogre Battle, snes/ps, most people either love it or hate it. I love it and most websites that talk about it are designed by rabid fans of the game. It inspires a cult like following that I've not seen matched in too many games. When I say cult I mean underground type crap. Your insane devotion to quake/halflife/tribes etc. does not count everyone plays those games. Turns his nose up and leaves in a snooty elitist huff. Where did I put my snes?

I understand symphon, its all a matter of taste, people here said that Half Life is better on MP, I reallt hate Half Life on MP, exceptp for COunter Srike and Team Fortress, but thats not the same.
