| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Resident Evil
Resident Evil is an RPG made for mainly Playstation, but also one (Residnt Evil 2) for N64 and one (Code Veronica) for Sega Dreamcast. The RE series is my favorite on the line of RPG's. I have played and beaten them all except damn Veronica because I'm too cheap to buy a Dreamcast. RE 3 is my favorite. I have heard of rumors that RE Zero will be for the PS2, but that is not certain yet. Do you people like Resident Evil and if so, which is your favorite? -anarchy476

Re: Resident Evil
Yeah, RE2 was pretty dull. Very easy to beat too. My stupid friend took forever to beat it. The most challenging of the three and overall would have to be RE1 for me. Took me quite a while to beat it.

Re: Resident Evil
i don't know if you could call resident evil an rpg.
RE:CV X is coming out for the PS2.
the new RE movie sounds like it's going to bite because it strays away from series.

Where the hell do you get that? Role Playing Game. You play the role of Jill Valentine, Chris Reidfield, Claire Reidfield, Carlos Olivera, Leon Kennedy, etc., etc. You play this role. And it is a game. RPG. Simple as that. And if you are refering to RE: Zero, it doesn't drift away from the point as far as I have heard. You play as Rebbecca Chambers from RE1 on a train. It is a followup to the first RE. -anarchy476

No Redrover, I have never heard of it? What is the rating? When was it made? What game console is it for? -anarchy476

By that logic, Super Mario Bros. is an RPG.

Re: Resident Evil
It is more of a role playing game than your average first person shooter because of the puzzles but it would generaly be considered adventure.

Re: Resident Evil
It's not an RPG, RE is it's own genre. Everyone refers to them (Dino Crisis, Syphon Filter, etc.) as "Resident Evil games" because they rock the house. It was killing me that I'd have to buy a Dreamcast to play the whole series, but they're gonna port and improve it for PS2 so when the new RE games hit for it, I'll go buy my PS2.

Re: Resident Evil
the RE series spawned it's own category --> survival horror.
in most rpgs you can build character stats, RE offers no such thing.
