I have a problem with my diablo 2, when i install teh game i get this problem, when i go to start it i get a cd rom error, it sez please insert the diablo 2 cd...even thogh itz actualy in there...i had a little trick i used like reinstalling the patch, but the new patch wont let me...and now when i go to install the x-pac...it dosent work, me and my friend have ben reinstalling all night, i need some help...

Have you completely uninstalled the game, then reinstalled it? I'm not sure what the problem could be if you have.. usually, with quirky problems that don't show themselves with any other programs, that works. I'm sure you know the deal.. add/remove programs, uninstall, reinstall, then go get the patch..

Other than that, maybe the CD got scratched? Or, if you're having any other problems with the CD-ROM drive, maybe that's fucked up in some way, although it doesn't sound likely.

I already reinstalled the game, and uninstalled it several times, last nigt i got it to work but it got late, ...4:00..so i shut it off, when i woke up it stopped working...ive noticed on other message boards peaple have the same problem but the solutions they use dont work...

The expansion can blow me. Blizzard can blow me. After the changes they made to the game, they can fuck right the hell off. Players were supposed to get a choice of keeping their old characters with the old rules or the expansion pack rules once they bought it, but they went and fucked over so many characters that already exist anyway.. man.. that's fucked up.

You have any problems with any other programs? I dunno what to tell ya.. I know that my CD-ROM didn't install BG2 properly, but the burner did.. the motherboard is dying, though.. it'd suck if you have a hardware problem, but it's possible.

See, i just got a new motherboard before i upgraded my shitty comp, its an asus or something i cant remmber, but anyways, my dad said it wasnt a hardware problem but just my cd rom dosent like to run my game, they cause conflicts and dont tun..i have a memorex 40x...very fast...but anyways, i like blizzard games, but there buggy as fawkin hell, starcraft, warcraft2, they dont work either...and on another note, ever since i put in a new ethernet card for my computer network...thats when it started to fawk up

Eh. Well, hey, if you got another ethernet card handy, try replacing the one you got in there with it. If you get a second, and it doesn't fix it, you got a spare part, so it's not a bad thing.. still.. a new motherboard isn't always a good one. My Abit died, so I got an EPoX board.. found out it's got a bad regulator, which causes random lockups (thankfully none while I'm playing games). Hardware may be unlikely in your case, but it's not impossible. Truth is, though, that it could theoretically be a number of things, and the only way to figure out what it is.. is trial and error. :\

I was gonna borrow my friends cd rom, hes got one of those magic spin cheap ass ones, thats supposed to be 50x but is more like 30...and im gonna take out the ethernet card out and delete the drivers for it, then ill see what hapens, but for now, everytime i wanna play it i gotta uninstall...so if i wanna play i gotta make it count....right now the realms are down so im on totse...=-)

hey gothic i had the ssame problem as you! i borrowed my friends cd burner to play the game. My cd rom is 52x but its one of those cheap ones $50 canadain
