Default my only dreams are nightmares

...or at least those are the only ones i remember. my grandfather died a while ago and i had a really fucked up dream about it.

my mother was pulling my grandfathers corpse in a little red wagon. she happened upon my aunt (her sister) laying upon a beat up couch in her nightgown with her hair disshevelled. my aunt started dancing like a string puppet, her head lolling and her arms jerking. my grandfathers corpse started doing the same thing. my mother, instead of being horrified, put her hand upon the corpse's should and said serenly "no, no dad, don't do that."

crazy and horiffic, but what the hell does it mean?! it seems so symbolic but i can't put it in context! arrggghhhh!!

Ok, I'll bite. Another cake bonanza at the grocery store tonight so "NO MORE ..CAKE!"

I guess this can't hurt my teeth any so here goes what occured to me...

Your mother pulling Grandpa in the little red wagon represents her holding onto the memory of her father as her wonderful , almost larger than life, much loved Daddy! Who played with her and whom she cared very much for and also, whom she knew loved and cared very much for her!during the years she held him close as her childhood rolled by.

Your dream is geared toward wanting to be sure ,that despite how many times she may ,if
given some unexpected push or pull in that direction, be given an opportunity to take a less active , not nearly as involved or even caring to be(invlvd), and showing the real loving emotions that mean so much to you at times, role in your life, that she will always opt to continue caring for you with as much of the genuine love and interested concern that is apart of your childhood that you remember and look upon fondly.

The sister in that condition on the sofa represents an insecurity that was, with regard to Dad, always very near to your Mom especially as she got older, maybe , say about your age...

The animated rag doll behavior would seem to be indicative of an apathetic, uncared for and as a result almost an empty shell of a person, a puppet, if you will, performing in an impersonal manner, going through the motions without emotion of, I suppose what I mean is that this "sofa person" represents a version of your mother (as close to being her as a sister might be...the difference between the wagon puller and the sofa sitter, is that one seems to care about childhood and parents and their children remaining near to each other, while
the other seems to have stopped caring awhile ago, already having been apart from parent fiugure for quite awhile before the rendezvous you dreamt about.
The dream is about your current relationship with your parents and the very real possibility that someday you will be faced with or have recently been faced with the fact that you can't be her little boy forever.

The meeting on the road (Grandpa's death) has
made you very apprehensive about letting go of your childhood attachment to Mom.

The scary part is that it will happen in one way or another and you know it, and are worried that rather than view this as the very bad, mean, sad-old, and resultantly, very lonely and uncared for, unloved state of being that the end of that comforting, warm relationship would be to you....

You are afraid that Mom will not take it so hard, may even surprise you by being rather
relieved and possibly ,( as awful as it seems to imagine), happy or glad that the end of that nurturing, often demanding , especially on ones who truly care , period of relationship and responisibility that parenting is....in short....coming to an end.

You love and depend on your Mom/parents for
many reasons , not the least of which is that they love and care for you ...

Her(,your Mom), saying to dead GRANDPS,"no!, stop!!, don't go there!, please don't be there!? don't be that!!!!, shows that you hope when she is faced with being the parent whose little boy is growing up and leaving her, just as her dad has just left her by dying , that she will not really trully care.

Say your prayers if you have some....
and remember the closer you are to an accurate perception based on observation and
logical assesment, to the best of your ability, to your own life and it's surounding people, places and possibiities, then, the less far far away you may feel with and actualy be, from them at the point in time where one or the other of you dies and what remains tangible is the place and importance the actual, no longer "available for company" entitiy is responsible for holding near and dear to , in your heart...

Damn, I'm hell of tired now. Hope this helped, maybe the word is delirious, sorry for taking up your attention if it was totally off track!

Default Re: my only dreams are nightmares

I don't have many nightmares, thankfully, but I had a string of dreams where I woke up a few years ago. I mean, the kind of dream where I would wake up, do something like get a glass of water, and then go back to sleep or just wake up or something and all of a sudden was at the realization that I had really been asleep! Every night for about six months, and it started to really bug me. Like nightmares. The worst was when I woke up, took a shower, got dressed, and left for work and THEN woke up only to find that I had to do it all over again... Sucked ass.

Cheers,
Lost

i had a dream like that once (it was a nightmare of course) it started out as a lucid dream actually, i did a little experiment to see how real lucid dreams are, i looked really close at a dream window and saw no little imperfections or dust like in real life. anyways i continued on and something really horrific involving a community center and children happened so i woke up. i shook the dream off and went about my day only to be confronted by a huge demonic rooster. (i know i already covered this) i woke up in bed, shook the dream off... you get the picture, it just kept going on. when i finally woke up for real i took a close look at my bedroom window.

here is what my coven taught me to rid myself of nightmares. Get some Anise Seed and a dark glass corked container. Bless them both. put the anise seed in the glass bottle and cork it.
The anise seed is known by pagan/wiccans as protection from nightmares. It works wonders.
